Seomyeon, Busan perfume workshop: 60ml birthday gift at Ete de Villa

For my older sister's birthday, I wanted to give her a one-of-a-kind scent, since she loves perfume. So I headed to Ete de Villa (에떼드빌라), a perfume workshop in Jeonpo. In a cozy space you can make your own scented products using more than 100 premium fragrance ingredients. Here's my review of this perfume workshop near Seomyeon~

Where is Ete de Villa, and what about hours and parking?

Ete de Villa is at 29 Jeonpo-daero 255beon-gil, Busanjin-gu, Busan. It's open 12:00–20:00 and closed every Thursday. There's no parking, so I'd recommend public transport.

It's near Jeonpo Elementary School, about a 5-minute walk from Bujeon Station, so it's easy to get to.

Inside the perfume workshop

The inside is packed with all kinds of fragrance ingredients! The neatly arranged organ shelves add a calm yet stylish feel to the interior~

On one side, the professional perfumer's certificate was neatly displayed~ Ete de Villa is a fragrance brand run directly by a perfumer with 10 years of experience!

The table was laid out with lots of colorful ingredients, and it felt like a great space for a 1:1 class, a couple's date, or an unusual activity with friends or family~

Can you make perfume even if it's your first time?

Ete de Villa has more than 100 premium ingredients, so you can combine a scent that fits your taste perfectly! First-timers needn't worry either: with the perfumer's friendly, close coaching and a formula you fill in step by step, it's easy and fun to finish your own perfume ☺️

Near the entrance I also saw diffusers, room sprays, hand cream and more, besides perfume. If you have a housewarming coming up or want a special gift, keep that in mind 😉🧡

How does the perfume class at Ete de Villa work?

I sat down and was handed a blending chart, and the owner first asked what the perfume was for and what I like~ Following those recommendations, I smelled the ingredients, wrote down the ones I liked and the amounts on the chart myself, and had fun taking part in the class.

It's fine if you don't know the recipient's taste

I smelled a variety of scents and picked ones that would make a good gift~ I didn't need to worry even though I don't know my sister's taste very well! 🥹 The thoughtful perfumer owner looked closely at her photo, her personality and the scents she usually likes, and actively made recommendations beside me.

After I chose several ingredients, the owner wrote out the recipe, and I worked hard to make it~

While calmly making the perfume, I thought about how much my sister would like the gift, and looking forward to her reaction made it even more fun~

I heard Ete de Villa uses top-quality ingredients that are safe even on skin, so I thought it would be perfect for my sister, who is raising a child~

The finished 60ml perfume and gift wrapping

At Ete de Villa, my 60ml perfume was finished with premium ingredients, and they topped it off with a pretty sticker 🌸

I smelled the finished perfume, and I was really proud: I loved the scent, and it seemed to suit my sister too~

When I said it was a gift, they wrapped it in a pretty gift box with fresh yellow tissue paper 🎁

A clear bottle, a clean label and a luxurious gift box: perfect in every way! 👏🏻 The pretty packaging, as good as any department-store brand perfume, made it just right for my sister's birthday gift!! 💝

I enjoyed making perfume, got to know all sorts of ingredients, and discovered the charm of new scents. The time spent preparing a gift for my sister felt like a big gift to me too ☺️❤️
