How was a weekend family outing with a child at Withwich in Guwol-dong?

Withwich is a spot in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon where you can enjoy sandwiches, pasta and pizza along with coffee. I went with my husband and child over the weekend. As someone who loves yoga (hi, I'm Yeonu's mom), this place had always caught my curiosity.

When eating out with a kid, taste matters, but parking and high chairs are always things I check too. Withwich had easy parking, so it started off on a good note 😊

Once we sat down, a staff member asked if we needed a high chair and brought it right to our table. It felt like they really paid attention to the fact we had a child with us, which I really appreciated. The staff were kind overall, so we could eat comfortably.

What we ordered at Withwich and the prices

That day at Withwich we ordered one sandwich and two kinds of pasta.

I originally wanted to try the pizza too, but by the time we got there, the pizza dough was all sold out. It was disappointing, but I figured we'd just have to come back for pizza next time!

How was the romesco chicken breast sandwich? "The best sandwich I've had this year"

Of the three menu items at Withwich, our family's favorite was the romesco chicken breast sandwich (₩11,400)! The almond sauce mixed in with the chicken breast was really nutty and clean-tasting. The chicken breast didn't feel dry at all and blended well with the other ingredients.

The tomatoes and onions especially were so crisp. Apparently they prep ingredients every morning and make everything from the sauce to the cooking in-house — biting into the fresh vegetables, I could tell why the sandwich tasted so good. The baguette was packed full inside, so eating it kind of felt like a hearty banh mi.

The best sandwich I've eaten this year

That's what my husband said after his first bite. Of everything we ate that day, the sandwich stuck with me the most too. I shared bits of the bread, tomato and chicken breast with my child, who gave me a thumbs up and ate it right up. Getting my kid's thumbs up too — I guess it really suited our family's taste haha.

How were the carbonara cream pasta and gambas oil pasta?

Withwich's carbonara cream pasta (₩15,900) had button mushrooms and bacon in it. The sauce was nutty and thick without being greasy, which I liked. Even my husband, who isn't great with rich food, said it was tasty, and my kid ate it well too.

The gambas oil pasta (₩16,500) came topped with four plump shrimp. It also had tomato, garlic and mushrooms, so it was fun picking through the ingredients. The flavor was slightly spicy but not too intense. Some places leave you chugging water after pasta because it's so salty, but this one felt much lighter than that, which I appreciated.

At Withwich, you grab your own water, pickles and plates, and return them yourself after eating too. Just a heads up for first-time visitors.

Withwich's coffee, point rewards, and pizza next time

Apparently the owner at Withwich roasts the coffee beans in-house. The roasting date was even written on the bag, which caught my eye as a coffee lover. This time we only had a meal, but next time I'd love to come in the morning and enjoy a brunch of sandwich and coffee. And of course, the pizza we missed out on this time!

I also found out that 5% of your purchase amount gets saved as points. Since there are menu items I want to come back for, I'll make sure to keep track of my points next time.

With a high chair available and easy parking, it's also a great option for anyone looking for somewhere to eat with a child in Guwol-dong. Hoping the pizza dough is in stock next time I visit... though I think I'll end up ordering the romesco chicken breast sandwich again 😊
