Magok pork BBQ for a group dinner: 6 servings at Chamdwaejitgan
In short
Chamdwaejitgan Magok Branch is a samgyeopsal (pork belly) and moksal (pork neck) grill house in Queen's Park Nine Building C, one minute from Balsan Station Exit 9 in Gangseo, Seoul. On a Friday evening the writer grilled 2 servings of black pork belly and 2 of pork neck, added 2 servings of Boseong nokdon pork when that wasn't enough, then finished with steamed egg and fried rice. Smoky grilled pork, potato ssam wraps and the 0-won service bar by the register make Chamdwaejitgan an easy pick for a company dinner.

Posting for the first time in ages haha.. and since it's been a while, I wanted to introduce a slick barbecue spot in Magok..!
Where is Chamdwaejitgan Magok Branch, and when is it open?
Chamdwaejitgan Magok Branch (참돼짓간 마곡점) is located at 115-B, 116, 1F, 247 Gonghang-daero, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, in Queen's Park Nine Building C, close to Exit 9 of Balsan Station. It's open Mon–Sat 16:00–02:30 the next day, closed Sundays. Group seating and reservations are available, along with Wi-Fi, men's/women's restrooms, free corkage, and parking at Queen's Park Nine Building C.
Chamdwaejitgan has branches in Jongno (main store), Magok, Cheonan, and Bucheon. Since they serve everything from Jirisan black pork to Boseong nokdon pork, I decided to check it out.

While flipping through the menu.. I checked the Naver event and Instagram event listed at the top ~~ hoping to score a free drink or fried rice...

Seating and menu for a group dinner at Chamdwaejitgan
Chamdwaejitgan Magok Branch has a big main seating area out front, and quite a lot of seats in a separated inner section too — maybe they expanded~~! The default 4-person tables looked great for groups, so it felt like a perfect spot for office workers around Magok to have a company dinner.
I actually visited on a Friday evening, and there were quite a few tables of coworkers dining together~~!

Here's the menu board outside so you can see everything at a glance.
What side dishes and sauces come with the meat?

Once we ordered, the side dishes slowly started coming out.

A perfect combo for the meat, from left: mushroom wasabi, wasabi, spicy sauce ssamjang (dipping paste), garlic, salt.

Scallions in chojang (vinegar chili sauce), lettuce and perilla leaves, and a salad to whet the appetite.

4 servings of black pork belly and neck, served with potato sides
For meat, we ordered black pork belly x2 and pork neck x2, 4 servings total.
Sliced potatoes, seasoned bean sprouts, lightly fermented kimchi, and minari (water dropwort) — basically all the combos you'd want with the meat showed up!! I especially loved the potatoes..
We slowly started grilling the meat. Since the staff grill it for you, my hands twitched a bit wanting to help but they had me wait haha. You grill the side dish items below as much as you like yourselves, and can get free refills on anything except minari~!!
The meat looked so good ~~~ I kept snapping photos, eager to eat it already.
Wanting a little something extra, we ordered the Korean appetizer of choice. The steamed egg came out piping hot, and we quickly scooped it up to share. Really fluffy.. but you have to eat it fast before the ttukbaegi (earthenware pot) cools down, to enjoy it at its best~~

The meat, lined up and turning a nice golden brown, cooking away nicely haha.

Potato ssam, kimchi ssam: endless wrap combinations
The staff flip the potatoes on the side one by one as they cook, then move the meat over for you.
- Wasabi and salt combo
- Wrapped in ssamjang and garlic
- Wrapped with kimchi
- With minari
- Wrapped with mushroom wasabi and potato
Endless combinations..~~ this is exactly why we eat pork ~~~
Partway through, we used the self-serve bar to top up whatever side dishes were running low.
They told us this is how to eat the potato ssam combo,, hmm, but my personal favorite wrap is... kimchi + potato + garlic combo...!! Honestly I also snuck in a little wasabi ㅠㅠ
Adding 2 servings of Boseong nokdon pork for a softer bite
Since it felt like we didn't have enough, we ordered 2 more servings — this time Boseong nokdon pork!! The texture was even softer~~! Personally, I liked this one even more haha.

Fried rice to finish and the 0-won service bar
Once you've finished the meat, you absolutely have to get the fried rice.. Chopping up a few leftover pieces of meat and some kimchi, then seasoning it just right, gives you a truly satisfying bowl of fried rice.

After eating, there's a 0-won service bar by the register. Mouthwash, toothpicks, fabric deodorizer, hair ties, interdental brushes, and even yogurt and candy to cleanse the palate.. You can really see the owner's thoughtfulness here!! They even told us to grab a yogurt on our way out ㅠ these little touches really warm the heart. Thank you soooo much👍🏻

The smoky flavor of the meat, plus the small thoughtful touches and service — I recommend Chamdwaejitgan🌀
