Solo brunch café in Gwangalli, Busan: salmon Benny, Famous Benny

I went to Gwangalli Beach today, and I found an Australian-style brunch place where I could eat alone, quietly and in a really nice atmosphere, so let me introduce it to you :)

Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch: location, hours and parking

Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch (페이머스 베니 광안리점) is at 64 Millak bondong-ro 11beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan, on the 1st and 2nd floors. It is open daily 08:00–18:00 with last order at 17:00. The signature items are The Famous Benny at ₩18,000, mushroom soup at ₩9,000 and the acai bowl at ₩9,000.

The brunch spot I visited today is "Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch," close to Gwangalli Beach! The building has two floors.

There is no dedicated parking, so I recommend using a paid lot! Near the entrance on the 1st floor there are also outdoor tables, which were nice to sit at as a waiting zone.

Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch: is it okay to go alone?

On the 1st floor there are 1-person tables next to the window where you can eat solo, so going alone feels easy. The interior is pretty and clean!

The 1st floor has the ordering counter and the restroom, and when you go up to the 2nd floor there is a bigger seating area!

Upstairs there is wide seating with tables that easily fit four, plus a self bar, blankets and Wi-Fi info, so you can eat even more comfortably!

The 2-person seats facing the window look comfy too, but since I'm alone, I'll sit by the wall!

Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch: menu and how to order

You order on the 1st floor by looking at the menu. I also went down to the 1st floor to order and picked from the menu they gave me!

The signature The Famous Benny is an eggs Benedict where you can choose salmon or bacon, and the bread underneath is unusually a croissant, which I found fun. It's ₩18,000! There are also lots of sides like toasts, salads, shakshuka (eggs poached in spiced tomato sauce) and acai bowls, so it's easy to order a variety, and the café drinks are plentiful too, so you can cover the café part here as well.

I ordered one main and one side! Ordering two things all by myself is pretty cool of me, haha. They bring the food to your seat, and you just leave the finished dishes on the table when you go!

Cutlery and water are at the self corner on the 2nd floor, and the look of it was so pretty that I ended up browsing around! The photos come out great too, total Instagram vibes.

How does The Famous Benny with salmon taste? (₩18,000)

The Famous Benny is Famous Benny's signature brunch dish, reinterpreted as an Australian-style brunch! On a croissant, the base has poached egg, avocado, sabayon sauce, macadamia nuts and onion chips.

You cut the poached egg together with the bread so it's easy to eat, and with vegetables on top it's a crunchy yet moist brunch style!

I chose salmon as the main ingredient, and the salmon and avocado go well together while the sabayon sauce is unusual, so I enjoyed eating it all together!

Acai bowl (₩9,000): can you eat it as dessert?

The acai bowl at Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch is ₩9,000, and it's the light bowl you think of when you think brunch! Acai berries, a superfood, are made into a purée, with banana, granola and peanut butter, so even one bowl is filling.

You get the fresh, sorbet-like acai, thick peanut butter and banana in one bite, so it's perfect if you don't like a heavy breakfast. I had it last as dessert, and it was filling, fresh, sweet and cold, so I recommend it.
