Songdo sushi restaurant with a baby, beat the weekend line: Sushi Doku
In short
Sushi Doku The Songdo is a sushi restaurant on the 2nd floor of Onesta Mall in Songdo, Yeonsu, Incheon, with high chairs and seats with room for a stroller. The writer and her husband, both big eaters, arrived with their baby for the 11am weekend opening, when about 10 groups were already queuing, and ordered the Premium Sushi Special Set, 10pc (25,900 won); they were pleased with the plastic-wrapped high chair, the udon refills and the generously sized salmon nigiri. For families with a baby who want sushi without the weekend wait, arriving at opening time at Sushi Doku The Songdo is the way to go.

These days it's fun hunting for restaurants we can go to with the baby, and our favorite sushi place in Songdo, Sushi Doku The Songdo (스시도쿠 더송도), has high chairs and lets you bring in a stroller, so eating there with a baby is really comfortable. We went for some delicious sushi on the weekend~! hehehe

Weekend waiting at Sushi Doku The Songdo: is the opening run better?
Even arriving right at the 11am weekend opening, about 10 groups were already waiting. It opens at 11 at Onesta in Songdo, so we did the opening run, and nearly 10 other groups had the same idea.. There's always a wait on weekends, so the opening run seems like the better move! When we came around 12 on a weekend, we waited about an hour on average.. that's how real a Songdo favorite it is..!

While waiting for the shop to open, we read the menu hanging outside from top to bottom, and the photos look so delicious it made my mouth water, haha

How to order and what's on the menu
At Sushi Doku The Songdo you order on the kiosk at each table! There's a wide range, from set menus to kids' menus and à la carte sushi ^.^

As a customer thank-you event, they're running a Naver receipt review event until the end of July, and each person can get one ₩6,900 premium sushi piece, so I really recommend joining in!!

High chairs and stroller seating at this Songdo sushi restaurant
If you come with a baby, Sushi Doku The Songdo seats you where a stroller fits, and high chairs are ready. We came with the baby, were shown to a spot where the stroller fit, and a high chair was ready, and the crazy thing is it had been wiped clean and wrapped?! No wonder.. it looked so clean when we used it before, there was a reason!

Premium Sushi Special Set, 10pc, ₩25,900: is it enough food?
What we ordered at Sushi Doku The Songdo was the classy Premium Sushi Special Set, 10pc, for ₩25,900! It comes with 10 pieces of sushi plus salad, tempura, udon and steamed egg (gyeran-jjim), so even a couple who eat a lot got full.

The set is salad, tempura, udon, steamed egg and sushi, neatly plated and nice to look at. With only 10 pieces of sushi, big eaters might worry it won't be enough, but with so many sides, no worries, nope~ the two of us eat quite a lot, and we always leave Sushi Doku The Songdo full!

The 10pc sushi lineup and my favorite, the salmon
The Premium Sushi Special Set sushi is flounder, red sea bream, salmon, squid, sweet shrimp, lean tuna (akami), red shrimp, red snow crab meat, eel and monkfish liver (ankimo). I love the variety of fish, and you can add single pieces, so you can order more of whatever suits your taste, which is even better. Everything is good, but my number one pick is the salmon nigiri! The salmon is sooo big and sooo good ^^

Steamed egg, refillable udon and tempura
Start with the warm steamed egg, then the bouncy udon! The udon in the Sushi Doku The Songdo set can be refilled too!! They won't let big eaters leave hungry~~

We also ate the tempura first, since it has to be eaten before it cools. It comes with 2 pieces of chicken karaage and 1 piece of shrimp, three pieces in total, topped with tartar sauce ^^

For the sushi, you brush on the soy sauce with a brush. The fish is fresh and the pieces are big enough to fill your mouth in one bite, so it was really filling and satisfying!

Plum tea, mouthwash and floss after the meal
On the way out, Sushi Doku The Songdo has warm plum tea (maesil-cha) ready, and at the counter there's mouthwash, floss and toothpicks too, haha. Onesta is connected to Songhyeon Arang, so lots of people come here as a date course, and thoughtful touches like these are just so nice~ A Songdo, Incheon favorite that was great with a little one too. I recommend Sushi Doku The Songdo!!
