There's a new spot worth trying at the Songdo Hyundai Premium Outlet. It's a real potato shop that fries 100% fresh potatoes, with not just fries but chicken, burgers, and more on the menu.
Fries that kids love, plus burgers and chicken that adults love — it feels different from typical fast food, and it's easy to take out or eat at the tables near the shop.
Where is Angry Potato in the Songdo outlet?
Angry Potato Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo Branch isn't a temporary pop-up but a permanent shop, located in the food hall on the basement floor of the Songdo Hyundai Premium Outlet. The yellow sign and menu board make it easy to spot.
Since the new opening, I'd already seen plenty of reviews on Instagram, and what I was most curious about was the chewy potato.
It's an open kitchen, so you can see the whole cooking process at a glance — and instead of serving pre-fried food, everything is fried fresh the moment you order, so the fries and chicken keep their crunch.

Angry Potato Songdo Branch is set up with single items and sets. The fries, made from 100% fresh potatoes trimmed and fried in-store, are ₩5,000, and the chewy potato — crispy outside, chewy inside, loved by kids and adults alike — is ₩6,500.
Angry potato chips, popular as a movie snack with no chemical additives, come in a sample size for ₩5,000 or a can for ₩15,000. Fry combos with sauce range from ₩7,000 to ₩8,000 depending on the sauce, and with cheese sticks, mini burgers, hot dogs, and chicken pieces on the menu too, it took a while to decide.
The six sauces at Angry Potato
Even the same fries or chicken taste completely different depending on the sauce. Angry Potato offers Chicago charcoal, sweet chili, wasabi mayo, white cream, sriracha mayo, and chipotle, and the sauces can even be bought separately — I wanted to try them all.
Depending on the number of people, a set menu is probably the best way to try a variety of items, and I really agonized between the Deep Crunch Box or Deep Crunch Chicken Box — which let you sample the shop's best menu items at once — and the Deep Squad Party Pack, which is great for sharing.

I liked being able to try a variety of menu items, and personally the chewy potato was really delicious. From order to pickup it took about 10 minutes, but since that's the wait for crispy chicken rather than soggy chicken, and I could look around while waiting, it didn't feel long.
It was a weekday afternoon so there was no wait, but on weekends or holidays it would probably get busier and the wait could be longer.
The Deep Crunch Box lets you eat chicken, fries, chewy potato, and mini burgers all in one go, and personally I found the Chili's sauce delicious.
The burger is a cute little size — gone in two bites.
The Chili's cheese sticks I personally enjoyed the most. The crispy cheese sticks are coated in a spicy-sweet Chili's sauce — literally the perfect beer snack.
If I'd eaten it fresh in the shop instead of taking it home, I think I'd still be thinking about this dish. Personally it's a flavor I'd want to eat again next time I'm at Songhyeona.
Chili's chicken rice bowl, 8,000 won
Chicken, burger, and fries alone felt like it might not be enough, so I also ordered the rice bowl — crispy chicken with a spicy-sweet sauce.
Mixed together with rice, this is exactly what chicken-and-rice (chibap) is supposed to taste like — so good.
Why the chewy potato is worth ordering again
Having actually tried it, I understand why people say it's delicious. Focusing purely on the potato, the chewy potato is a much stronger recommendation than regular fries. It's great as a snack for kids too, and it's so addictive you lose track of how many you've eaten.
I usually like chewy textures, so I've long been into trends like butter rice cakes, but for a while I don't think I'll be able to pull myself away from Angry Potato's chewy potato. Because it's 100% fresh potato rather than frozen, it tastes even better — an honest, tasty fast-casual food spot. That was my review of Angry Potato Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo Branch.
