The European Gwanggyo is spread across two floors. Both the 1st and 2nd floors are very spacious, making it a great choice for family meals, gatherings with friends, business dinners, banquets, first-birthday parties (doljanchi), and various other events!

Known as a top wood-fired pizza restaurant, 'The European Gwanggyo' bakes dough that's fermented for 18 hours and matured for 24 hours in a premium Stefano Ferrara oven at 485°C, producing the best kind of pizza — crispy outside, chewy inside~

Here's what we ordered.

  • Fresh bolognese lasagna
  • Squid ink tomato tortellini
  • Margherita burrata pizza

Let me introduce each one as we tasted them~

Fresh bolognese lasagna

Of the three dishes we ordered, this was my favorite~

Fresh bolognese lasagna topped with mozzarella cheese

With ragu sauce, béchamel sauce, parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese as the main ingredients, it catches your eye just by looks alone.^^ The fresh pasta sheets are made in-house and layered up. It's packed with rich bolognese sauce, and the aroma and flavor are top-notch~ The snow-white mozzarella cheese gives it a lovely look too!

When I scooped up a spoonful, the soft pasta sheets practically melted in my mouth~

The savory richness of the meat and the tanginess of the tomato balance perfectly, hitting the spot for a lot of customers, I'd guess!

It's not overpowering at all, with a nice balance of savoriness and freshness, so even the kid loved it~ It seems like the kind of dish the whole family can love. Haha.

Squid ink tomato tortellini

I ordered this because I'd heard it's a must-try dish at 'The European Gwanggyo'. After tasting it, I really felt glad I ordered it~

It's a signature dish made with domestic pork, fennel, red pepper, black pepper, grana padano, egg, and tortellini! Thanks to the squid ink, it really has that ocean feel both in look and taste~

Tortellini is a small ring-shaped pasta that originated in Italy, stuffed inside like a dumpling.

It has that dumpling-like feel, and taking a bite you also get the chewy pasta texture with tomato flavor and aroma layered in — a really appealing texture! It has such a refined, upscale taste~

Margherita burrata pizza

This is a pizza made with dough fermented for 18 hours and matured for 24 hours, baked at 485°C in the oak-fired oven~

It has a satisfyingly crispy exterior while staying chewy inside — the best kind of texture!

It's topped with fresh tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, burrata cheese, and basil pesto~

When you cut into the burrata cheese, the totally soft creamy center is a delight for both eyes and mouth. Haha.
