Haeundae cake shop: fruit-packed strawberry-mango mini, Sijeunikeu

I found my life-changing cake shop,,, I can proudly say this is the best cake I've ever eaten! The sponge, the cream, the fruit, I was happy with all of it!! Here's my Sijeunikeu (시즈니크) cake review~!

Where is Sijeunikeu Centum City?

Sijeunikeu is on B1 of Shinsegae Department Store Centum City Branch, which connects directly to Senteomsiti Station in Busan. Just look for the English signboard, haha. It sits right in the middle of the basement food hall, which has tons of food! I went on a weekend, so maybe that's why the display case had lots of cakes already gone?

What is Sijeunikeu's most famous cake?

Sijeunikeu is famous for its mango and strawberry half-and-half cake!! We rushed over to Shinsegae just for this one strawberry-mango half-and-half cake, haha. Only the mini size was left when we went, but there are bigger sizes too.

Besides the strawberry-mango half-and-half, there were fully mixed-fruit cakes and cakes topped with only mango.

How much is the strawberry-mango half-and-half mini cake, and how big is it?

The mini version of the Sijeunikeu half-and-half cake is ₩36,000. A perfect size for two people? For four, it might be a little small. The looks alone are killer, so for a birthday or anniversary, this is the cake I'd recommend first. I'm confident about it, ugh.

Sijeunikeu's ingredient principles

Sijeunikeu says it curates only the two best fruits of each season. That's probably why mango and strawberry are used together~! This cake uses 100% animal-based fresh cream, and the rule is made and sold the same day. They also say fresh fruit arrives every dawn and the sponge is baked in-house without emulsifiers. Is there any reason not to buy it?

Next time I want to try their signature Strawberry Farm Wareureu cake too. After my very first bite, my trust in this company went up 10000%, I swear lolololol

How does Sijeunikeu handle packaging and candles?

The cake came nicely packed in a cute green box~! They give you candles if you need them, so be sure to ask, haha. If you need number candles, the shop sells them, so you don't have to run to Daiso or another store! You can buy them right there, haha.

I opened it the moment I got home!! Crazy good looks,,, I'd never had a half-strawberry, half-mango cake, so I was even more excited, haha.

How did the strawberry-mango half-and-half cake taste?

Just from the looks, I'd call the Sijeunikeu strawberry-mango half-and-half cake No. 1 among the cakes in Shinsegae Department Store, and once you taste it you'll be sure of that. First of all, the fruit itself is delicious. The mango in particular was so well ripened it honestly felt like eating it in Southeast Asia!!! Winter strawberry season is over, but they still decorated it with only sweet strawberries.

Strawberries and mango are piled on top so generously that it was hard to cut, haha. There are blueberries here and there too, so it's fun hunting for them~~! There's even gold dust lolololol. The Sijeunikeu brand feels extra classy for no reason.

Is the cross-section full of fruit too?

Doesn't it look even tastier with the sheet off lolololol? At other bakeries, they ring the outside with fruit, and when you cut in there's not a bit of fruit inside, which happens way too often. Not at Sijeunikeu.

Can you really see that cross-section!! It's not a cake with fruit only on the outside for show, it's filled all the way through. And because the cream is animal-based, it's not greasy at all and insanely delicious,,, it just melts away ugh. The fruit must have been chosen for being super sweet, because it was really, really good ugh.

You know cake is a dessert you get sick of easily, right? With Sijeunikeu's cake, I was sad when it was finished!! Enough said, right? Please just buy it, please ugh. For birthdays and anniversaries, I highly, highly, highly recommend Sijeunikeu cake. It has become my life cake.
