Open windows and a six-person table at Marine City Chinese: Bueokgan
In short
Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a sea-view Chinese restaurant at 51 Marine City 3-ro in Haeundae, Busan, where second-floor floor-to-ceiling windows give every seat a view of Dongbaek Island and the sea. On a summer day with the windows thrown open, the writer ordered suran ganjajang (black bean noodles with a poached egg), beef brisket jjamppong (spicy noodle soup) and black vinegar tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), and the crisp napa cabbage and sweet stir-fried onions stood out. With tables seating up to six and a private room for larger groups, Bueokgan Chinese suits both get-togethers and dates.

Today I went to Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch, a Haeundae restaurant with an amazing view. It's a spot right on the front row of the sea view, with floor-to-ceiling windows fully open so you can take in the beautiful Dongbaek Island and the ocean at a glance. It's a great Haeundae restaurant for eating Chinese food while catching the cool sea breeze, so let's get right into the review ╰( •̀ .̫ •́ )✧

What's on the menu at Bueokgan Chinese, and what we ordered
Here's the menu board at Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch. Check the menu items and prices 😉 We ordered suran ganjajang, beef brisket jjamppong, and black vinegar tangsuyuk!

Sea views from every seat, six-person tables and a private group room
This is the interior of Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch. Every single seat has a gorgeous sea view, which really makes it feel like an amazing space. Plus, catching the cool sea breeze on a hot summer day put me in such a good mood.

Bueokgan Chinese has generously sized tables that seat up to six people. On top of that, there's a private group room, so no matter how many people show up, they can all be accommodated. Outside there's a stunning sea view, inside there's stylish Chinese-style decor, and the group room is quite large too — in fact, when we visited, a lot of group gatherings were happening.
How the beef brisket jjamppong, suran ganjajang and black vinegar tangsuyuk tasted
First up was the beef brisket jjamppong. It was packed with ingredients and delicious, and especially the crispness of the napa cabbage really cleared my palate — the broth leaned more toward refreshing than spicy, which I enjoyed a lot.

This is the suran ganjajang, properly loaded with onions. I think jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) really is better when it's stir-fried with plenty of onions and chunjang (black bean paste) like this — the sweetness of the onions makes the noodles even tastier. And with all those stir-fried onions piled on, it looks different from regular jajangmyeon too — lots of vegetables mean it's good to eat and good to look at.

Popping the poached egg and mixing it thoroughly into the noodles, there's plenty of meat mixed in too, so it's crunchy and chewy at the same time — really fun texture and delicious.

I mixed it all up thoroughly and the sweetness of the ganjajang really came through — it was so delicious. And since there's beef mixed in too, this jajangmyeon never gets boring and you can eat it happily.
The jjamppong is the same — eating it with that crisp napa cabbage keeps the crunch alive, so you really feel the flavor as you eat.

This is the black vinegar tangsuyuk we ordered as a side. The portion is generous even for two people, and since it's chewy glutinous rice tangsuyuk, even one piece is filling enough to make you feel full.

Eating Chinese food while looking out at the refreshing Marine City view naturally put me in a great mood. Outside, a cool sea view; inside, a lovely Chinese-style atmosphere — it's such a nice vibe that it's also good for a date.
