On the weekend I visited MIMI Coffee Mill (미미커피방앗간), a café in Sunseong-myeon, Dangjin. I heard there's an art museum nearby and thought about visiting both, but it seemed like a better place to come with my kid later, so this time I only stopped by the café.

My number one seat at MIMI Coffee Mill is by the window. I sat there, and the lush green trees were healing just to look at. This is my favorite spot.

What are the parking, opening hours and entrance like?

The parking lot was roomy, so I parked easily. I went in the morning, and it was quiet until noon.

It's open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with last order at 8 p.m. The entrance is a half-revolving door, so don't push it past halfway.

How to order at MIMI Coffee Mill and what we chose

There's a menu board and a kiosk, and you order at the kiosk. I ordered the signature MIMI cream latte, a fresh strawberry latte and the Dangjin soft tofu ice cream, plus three kinds of bread for dessert.

There were so many kinds that I agonized over what would be tasty. I hadn't had breakfast, so I figured something filling would be best.

There was the butter soboro (butter crumble bun) for ₩3,500, and

the red bean bun for ₩2,800.

I had the glutinous pea bread too. I was hungry, so I ordered the hearty ones.

After ordering I saw sandwiches in the back and lots of tasty-looking desserts. The krungji (crispy rolled pastry) looks great, and I don't know why I only noticed it now.

It's summer season, so the MIMI cream latte comes topped with black sesame. MIMI Coffee Mill also sells lots of products that work as gifts, so you could pick some up on your visit and hand them out to friends as souvenirs.

When does MIMI Coffee Mill get crowded?

It's quiet in the morning, and customers pour in after 12. I came early and it was empty, but after noon big groups and lots of families arrived all at once. It's a famous Dangjin café, so there were quite a lot of customers. There are plenty of seats, though.

There's also a water spot near the counter. It's self-serve, so just help yourself. I'm so curious about the MIMI cream latte, which has sold 80,000 cups.

The owner is a famous barista. No wonder so many people come.

Maybe because the weather was nice, I could enjoy a relaxed tea time. The road on the way wasn't congested and had such a nice atmosphere, so it's perfect for a drive too. Green is such a soothing color for the eyes, right? I chatted comfortably while looking at the trees by the window.

Today's plan was to have a tasty brunch at MIMI Coffee Mill and then go look at cars. You drive a car for a long time once you buy it, so test drives and seeing it in person help me decide. I'm heading to see cars this afternoon.

What does the summer black sesame MIMI cream latte taste like?

True to its signature status, the MIMI cream latte is served beautifully. The black sesame on top is totally my style. I ate it with a spoon, and it was super nutty and delicious.

How big are the breads at MIMI Coffee Mill?

The breads are big, so I ended up taking 1 of the 3 home. I hadn't had breakfast and planned a proper bread-for-breakfast meal, and when I cut it with a knife it sliced easily, so it was easy to eat. The size was big and I stuffed myself.

How do you eat Dangjin soft tofu ice cream?

The Dangjin soft tofu ice cream I was so curious about really looks like real soft tofu. Isn't that a great idea?! Places that do well have a reason. It's distinctive, so it's fun to see and eat.

You just put it together and eat. The ice cream is nutty and sweet too.

Is MIMI Coffee Mill good value for money?

The portions are big and the view is good, so I felt it was excellent value. I got a proper sugar recharge today. I recommend it to people who like sweet things. These days bread and drinks can run in the ₩8,000 range at pricey places, but MIMI Coffee Mill had bigger portions than I expected and a great view, so I thought it was excellent value.

MIMI Coffee Mill also has wide outdoor seating and camping-style seats. Eating lots of my favorite bread made me happy from the morning. This is why we go on weekend outings. There were seats outside the window too, so I got curious and went out to look.

There are camping-style seats too, and they're totally my style. I love places with a camping feel. It's such a unique spot that it's lovely just to look at, isn't it?

I visited the Dangjin café MIMI Coffee Mill on the weekend, and the portions were big, the taste was good and the prices were kind, so I made some really happy memories. I liked the vintage atmosphere, and getting a good seat at the window with a view felt so lucky. It was a lucky day in many ways, and I left feeling happily healed.
