The hours are pretty generous too, so it works whether you're visiting the market in the morning or stopping by before heading to the airport on your last day in Jeju. I went on my last day !!

Can you taste the oranda before you buy?

There were so many varieties of oranda !! Personally, I think the best part of buying this kind of snack is the tasting, and at Cheongchuni Oranda you can try several products before deciding, which is great for first-timers who don't want to commit blind. Each oranda has a slightly different flavor and texture, so it's so much better to taste it yourself rather than just judging by looks. I got to sample and pick the flavor I liked, and the owner explained everything so kindly that choosing was easy ㅠㅠ

When you think of oranda, you usually picture the square-shaped traditional snack — but here I found products in all kinds of flavors and shapes !

It was surprising that such pretty oranda existed.. looked great as gifts too. I ended up grabbing a bunch of stuff because it was so good, and this place is legit, guys.. From flavors using classic Jeju ingredients like citrus, yuzu, nut, gamtae, and manong to donut-shaped oranda, the range was huge !! Manong especially, which uses garlic, has garlic butter and parsley in it so it tastes almost like garlic bread — really surprising.

Tangerine oranda: half the bag gone on the spot

I couldn't resist and sneaked citrus oranda and nut oranda into my bag. These oranda are seriously amazing.. good value for the price, chewy-crisp texture, sweet, and even had a distinct citrus scent. I thought I was just grabbing one or two pieces, but next thing I knew half the bag was gone lol...

Oranda vs. gwajul: how do the textures differ?

These are the little ones I brought home ! I got both oranda and gwajul (traditional fried rice snack) — and gwajul's crisp texture is its own kind of charming. Totally different from oranda's soft, chewy-crisp texture, and just as appealing in its own way... I would've regretted it if I hadn't brought some home. Plus my parents loved it.. <3

This texture is seriously chewy and crunchy, I really wish everyone could try it ㅠㅠㅠ I'm being so serious right now........
