Myeongdong jokbal date, booked on Naver with no wait: Miss Jokbal
In short
Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch is a jokbal (braised pig's trotters) restaurant on Myeongdong 3-gil in Jung-gu, Seoul. After shopping in Myeongdong, a couple booked through Naver for around 8 p.m. on a weekday, walked in with no wait and ordered a medium jokbal, a flying fish roe rice ball and Miss steamed egg; a salad came as standard and kimchi kalguksu (noodle soup) came free. With chewy jokbal free of any porky smell and satisfying sides, Miss Jokbal is worth a trip to Myeongdong for the jokbal alone.

Why we came to Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch for dinner after shopping
Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch (미쓰족발 서울명동점) is where we had dinner after shopping in Myeongdong and wandering around Myeongdong Cathedral and the Shinsegae Department Store main branch. The weather these days is hot in the daytime and cool at night, perfect for walking around haha. Do you all go to Myeongdong often? I hadn't been in a while and was honestly shocked by how crowded it was. So many foreigners in our country!!
That day I shopped in Myeongdong, looked around near Myeongdong Cathedral, and peeked into the Shinsegae main branch. Then I got so hungry that I went looking for a good jokbal place in Myeongdong for dinner.

Is there a wait at Miss Jokbal Myeongdong at 8 p.m. on a weekday?
It was around 8 p.m. on a weekday and the place was still quite full. We got there at almost 8 after the department store, and even on a weekday there were so many customers!!!! Can you see how many people are outside alone haha.
You know how hard it is to pick a restaurant in Myeongdong? There's so much choice and so many good places. But with this many people, it's already a proven spot, yep yep yep.

We had booked ahead, so we walked straight in with no wait. Since it's so busy, I highly recommend reserving on Naver in advance!

What we ordered for two, and the free kimchi kalguksu
The two of us ordered a medium jokbal, a flying fish roe rice ball and Miss steamed egg. A salad came as standard, and they even gave us kimchi kalguksu (kimchi noodle soup) as a free service.
- Medium jokbal
- Flying fish roe rice ball
- Miss steamed egg
But this place... the service is seriously crazy.

This is really free?!?! We were both starving when we arrived, and I was already happy just from the freebies... The kimchi kalguksu especially hit the spot!! The broth was spicy but not harsh, and it went so well with the jokbal. And then, finally, the star of the day appeared.

How was the jokbal at Miss Jokbal Myeongdong?
The jokbal at Miss Jokbal Myeongdong was glossy, chewy yet tender, and had no gamey smell. I approve it as a great Myeongdong jokbal place. If you're looking for good jokbal in Myeongdong, go go go go! It was glossy and dripping with shine, and the look alone ended the game.
I only came to eat after a day out, but I felt this alone is worth coming to Myeongdong for. That's how much I loved it!!@@

The first bite and we both nodded at the same time, like, yes hahahahaha. A moment where we clicked as a couple!! The jokbal is seriously delicious!! Chewy yet tender, no gamey smell, and the texture was great, maybe because it's boiled the same day.

Is the medium jokbal a good amount for two?
The menu lists the medium jokbal as 2–3 servings, but personally I think it's just right for 3 people rather than 2. Two of us almost burst... The portion is really generous.

Flying fish roe rice ball, a great match for jokbal
The flying fish roe rice ball was the dish that won me over more than I expected that day. Koreans really run on rice power!! For those of us who want rice even when we're full, here's the flying fish roe rice ball ><

The popping texture of the roe plus the nutty flavor kept my hand going back. Eaten with the jokbal, it's the best combo. We kept eating it while saying we were full, a bewitching dish.

But we were too lazy to shape it and just scooped it up with a spoon hahaha. Still tasty, though!

Miss steamed egg with mini shrimp
The Miss steamed egg is fluffy and has mini shrimp inside, giving it a subtle seafood flavor. As we ate, I noticed a real savory depth. Looking closely, there were mini shrimp in it. So it wasn't an ordinary steamed egg; it had a gentle seafood taste. Personally, totally my taste.

Can you ask for extra ssam vegetables?
If you need more ssam (wrapping) vegetables at Miss Jokbal Myeongdong, they'll give you more of both perilla leaves and lettuce on request. If you love wraps, be sure to ask! I personally love ssam with jokbal haha.

The mix of chewy texture and tender meat was impressive, and my chopsticks never stopped, so we finished almost all that huge portion hahaha. The skin is springy and the lean meat is moist, so I kept marveling the whole time.

Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch in one line
"Diet starts tomorrow" popped right into my head, and today's happiness was brought to you by jokbal hahahaha. Collagen fully recharged, and the happiness level shoots up the moment you eat. Miss Jokbal Myeongdong, a great jokbal place in Myeongdong, highly recommended!!
