Meeting my sister in Yeonnam-dong on her half day off
Yesterday my sister and I had lunch in Yeonnam-dong :) Let me introduce the pasta place we enjoyed so much!
Yeonnam-dong has so many good restaurants that I'm always torn on where to eat, but that day we both wanted pasta so we went looking for a Western-style place ✨ That's how we ended up at Hey Joji ~~
I love pasta and often look up pasta places whenever I'm in Yeonnam-dong, so this time I decided to try Hey Joji, which is famous for pasta in the neighborhood 🫶

Once we stepped inside, the atmosphere was even better than I expected?! The interior had an overall exotic feel, but it wasn't stiff at all — a comfortable spot to eat.
I thought it'd be a great place to take photos and chat leisurely over lunch in Yeonnam-dong.

Easy ordering by QR code! Hey Joji sells both pasta and steak, so the two of us ordered two dishes and shared them!

Jambon butter cheddar pasta, ₩16,000
The jambon butter cheddar pasta (₩16,000) came out first. I love pasta so I tend to try new items whenever I see them, and this combo of jambon (ham) with butter and cheddar cheese caught my curiosity, so I ordered it.
Jambon + butter + cheddar + pasta — literally everything I love ☺️ Passed the visual test right away! The pasta we had that day had the sauce coating the noodles beautifully, and with the butter and cheddar cheese it had a rich, savory flavor throughout!
With the jambon mixed in with the noodles it also had a salty edge, so it stayed delicious all the way to the last bite without getting boring 😋
House steak, ₩31,000
The house steak (₩31,000) came with side dishes too, making for a pretty full plate! The steak was cut into easy-to-eat pieces so it was comfortable to eat, and the meat was tender, not chewy at all.

Sweet potato fries, not regular fries, with the steak
The steak was amazing that day, but honestly the sweet potato fries stole the show!! I'm a die-hard sweet potato person, and usually the side that comes with steak is regular fries?! I wondered, wait, is that yellow thing actually sweet potato? And sure enough, it was sweet, delicious sweet potato fries 🍠
Turns out they also have sweet potato fries as a separate side menu haha. If you're ordering just pasta, I'd recommend adding sweet potato fries as a side! Eating them in between bites of steak gave the perfect sweet-and-salty combo 👍
My sister said the sweet potato fries were delicious too!

Hey Joji has great food and a nice atmosphere, so it'd be a good spot in Yeonnam-dong for friends, group hangouts, dates, or even end-of-year gatherings haha 🎄
I really enjoyed the jambon butter cheddar pasta that day, but the sweet potato fries that came with the steak were especially memorable ✨ (Sweet potato instead of regular potato, who knew 💖) They go so well with the steak, so I highly recommend both dishes we had today. Especially if you're visiting as a pair, I recommend ordering pasta and steak together and sharing!
