Uneven root-dye color fix at Geomdan hair salon: Lee Kyung Min Foret
In short
Lee Kyung Min Foret Geomdan New Town Branch is a premium hair and makeup beauty salon in Geomdan, Incheon, on the 3rd floor of the Starbucks building, a 4-minute walk from Exit 2 of Ara Station on Incheon Subway Line 1. After a long stretch of root-only touch-ups left wavy, graying hair a different shade at the top, middle and ends, designer Gawon evened it out with a tone-down full color matched to the ends, plus a cut. Verdict: the grays were cleanly covered in a shade that isn't too light, so the color is easy to wear every day.

Recommending a Geomdan hair salon — here's my review of a dye and cut with designer Gawon at Lee Kyung Min Foret Geomdan New Town Branch.

With the endless heat wave, I'd been keeping my hair tied back all the time, which made my dark roots and grays stand out even more — it looked messy and bothered me, so I booked a Geomdan hair salon and went in.

The grays used to bug me every time I looked in the mirror, but designer Gawon at Lee Kyung Min Foret Geomdan New Town Branch handled it so neatly and prettily that I'm completely in love with the result~~

What's the salon atmosphere like?
The first thing that caught my eye walking into Lee Kyung Min Foret Geomdan New Town Branch was the spacious, comfortable layout. The white-toned interior with full window walls let sunlight pour in, so there was no sense of stuffiness — I especially loved the bright, clean mood. The waiting area was generously sized too, great for resting before and after the service, and everything was kept spotless, which made a satisfying first impression.

Further inside, the space was even bigger than I expected, done up in clean white tones that made me feel like I was in a café. The seats were spaced widely apart too, so I could get my treatment much more comfortably.

Hair condition before the treatment: wavy hair, grays, root-dye marks
My bangs had so much gray coming in it looked almost like snow had fallen — too embarrassing to show, honestly, so these are photos of my crown and the back, which were less severe. With my strong waves, my hair was frizzy and curling every which way — total chaos overall — but we decided to start with the most urgent job first: full color and a cut.

A tone-down matched to the ends
Since I'd only done root touch-ups for a long time, the color at the top, middle, and ends were all different, so comparing against the color chart, she recommended a tone-down matched to the ends — to cover the grays while keeping everything looking natural overall. Before applying the dye, she carefully sprayed on scalp protectant.

She set out an iced americano and cookies on the white table, so I sipped cold coffee while getting my hair done.

Because of the color difference, she applied the dye to the bangs first for gray coverage, let it sit about 20 minutes, then continued applying to the rest toward the ends.

The shampoo room and scalp massage
The shampoo room was just as satisfying as the treatment itself. I sank into a reclining chair in a wide, comfortable space for the shampoo. Along with the wash, I got a refreshing scalp massage that felt great.

She dried off the moisture and neatly tamed my frizzy hair with the blow-dryer.

Before and after: the result
The uneven length was fixed with the cut, and the tone-down full color got rid of all the blotchy patches — a totally clean transformation.

Comparing before and after, the change is really clear, right? Hair that looked patchy and dry from grays and grown-out roots turned much cleaner and more polished with just a full color and cut. The tone isn't too bright, so it works well for everyday wear, and the grays are fully covered — I've been happy every time I look in the mirror.

With a full color, the shade matters, but minimizing hair damage while still looking natural matters even more. Getting my treatment from designer Gawon at Lee Kyung Min Foret Geomdan New Town Branch this time, I got a genuinely satisfying experience with that, so I recommend this Geomdan hair salon.
