Inside Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch

I visited Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch, a great spot near Euljiro 1-ga Station in Seoul. The jokbal is really delicious. Besides jokbal, you can also get bossam, lunch set meals and plenty more. This is Myeongdong, so there are lots of foreign guests here too. With so many Miss Jokbal branches around, the quality is something even I can vouch for.

How were the medium Original Jokbal and fish roe rice ball at Miss Jokbal?

The restaurant provided one Original Jokbal (medium) and one fish roe rice ball. The medium was plenty for two people, and a flame under the plate kept the jokbal warm to the very end.

Original Jokbal (medium), kept warm over a flame

First, the Original Jokbal, in medium size. It's generous and has no gamey smell. The skin was totally chewy and so good, and the lean meat wasn't dry at all, just tender and delicious. The portion is really generous too, enough for two people. Jokbal this chewy and tasty is something I'd want again next time. They even light a flame underneath so you can keep eating it warm.

Flying fish roe rice ball

Next, the fish roe rice ball (날치알주먹밥). The popping texture of the fish roe and the nutty flavor of the seaweed flakes go together so well. It's good mixed up like bibimbap, and good shaped into rice balls too. They give you a lot, so it's filling!

Free salad and kimchi kalguksu with every jokbal

The best thing about Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch is that whatever jokbal size you order, a salad and kimchi kalguksu come included. I tried the salad: fresh, crunchy and tangy, and really good eaten with the jokbal. There's plenty of it, too.

The kimchi kalguksu has crunchy, tangy kimchi and a broth with real depth, the kind of broth that makes you crave soju. The noodles were chewy and delicious as well. The side dishes come out neatly, and you get 3 sauces. Jokbal is Miss Jokbal, after all. I ate until I was totally full.

Miss Jokbal Myeongdong menu and how to order

You order on a tablet kiosk at Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch. New items include octopus jokbal and octopus bossam, and the menu is wide: jokbal, bossam, lunch menus, sides, alcohol and drinks.

Octopus and jokbal together sounds good too. I really enjoyed jokbal for the first time in a while. The lunch menu has a jokbal set meal, a bossam set meal and more, so it's good for solo dining as well. Miss Jokbal is love! You can't not drink soju with jokbal. I saw plenty of people eating alone. The set meals are reasonably priced.

Is Miss Jokbal Myeongdong spacious? The 1st and 2nd floors

Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch is a large restaurant split over two floors, and it's open until 3 a.m. every day, so it's great for late-night jokbal. One drawback: it tends to be busy at lunchtime.

1st-floor dining room

Spacious 1st floor seating at Miss Jokbal

This is the 1st floor of Miss Jokbal Seoul Myeongdong Branch. It's really spacious, and since it's open until 3 a.m. every day, it's perfect for jokbal late at night. It tends to be crowded around lunchtime, so keep that in mind.

2nd-floor dining room

2nd floor seating at Miss Jokbal, good for group dinners

This is the 2nd floor. With two floors it's even roomier. It's great for a company dinner in Myeongdong, and I strongly recommend it as a Myeongdong date spot. Lots of people upstairs were eating gamjatang (pork bone stew), and now I'm curious about that too. I ate until I was completely full.
