Pyeongtaek kalguksu spot: early lunch before the rush, Songdam

Songdam Kalguksu (송담칼국수) is a kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) restaurant on Gangbyeon-ro in Anjung-eup, Pyeongtaek, named a Good Price Business by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. At an early lunch we had 2 servings of beef hot pot kalguksu and 1 serving of octopus kalguksu, plus extra vegetables, meat dumplings and self-serve egg porridge; the hall was quiet when we arrived and full with a waiting line by the time we left. The rich broth, long-simmered with sanghwang mushroom and dried pollack, and the chewy chive noodles have us planning a return visit to Songdam Kalguksu.
