Deep blue sea café in Aewol, Jeju with peanut latte: Aewolbon Café
In short
Aewolbon Café is a red-building sea-view café on Aewolhaean-ro in Aewol, Jeju. On the last day of a Jeju trip, the writer chose Aewol over Hamdeok and Gujwa and sat on a 2nd-floor window sofa with an Udo peanut latte with an extra shot (8,000 won), the starred grapefruit ade (9,000 won), and mango and strawberry yogurt smoothies (8,500 won each). With deep blue water and plenty of parking, Aewolbon Café makes a good rest stop on an Aewol coastal drive.

Why Aewolbon Café on the last day of a Jeju trip?
Aewolbon Café (애월본카페) is a sea-view café at 179 Aewolhaean-ro, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju, South Korea, and we went on our last day to see the Aewol sea. We had only been sightseeing around Hamdeok and Gujwa, so we said, let's try Aewol on the last day too!! While searching for a good spot, we figured if we're going anyway, we wanted a place with a wide-open sea view, so off we went to Aewolbon Café!
Aewolbon Café hours, directions and parking
Aewolbon Café is open 10:00 to 19:00, last order at 18:30, and closed every Monday. From Dongmun Market and the airport it took about 30 minutes? Something like that. By Jeju standards that's nothing~ hehe
The red building by the sea is so pretty! There's wide, roomy parking right in front of the café, which was great.

Is the sea in Aewol a different color from Gimnyeong Beach?
The Aewol sea in front of Aewolbon Café was a deep blue, different again from Gimnyeong Beach. And what a gorgeous sea view..! Gimnyeong is more emerald?? a bright sea color, while Aewol was a really deep blue??? Each one feels a little different, so you could spend all day just looking at the sea and it would still feel new, haha

How to order at Aewolbon Café, and menu prices
Aewolbon Café has a 1st and 2nd floor. You order on the 1st floor first, and the staff bring your drinks to your seat!

This is what we ordered that day, haha
- Udo peanut latte ₩8,000
- Grapefruit ade ₩9,000
- Mango yogurt smoothie ₩8,500
- Strawberry yogurt smoothie ₩8,500
The grapefruit ade had a star next to it, so we ordered it wondering if there was something special about it, haha

1st or 2nd floor: where to sit for the best sea view at Aewolbon Café
The inside of Aewolbon Café is spacious and clean! And from the 1st floor you can see the sea through the window like this!

We wanted a wider sea view, so we took a seat on the 2nd floor. Wherever you sit you get a wide-open view of the sea, and it was so pretty, I could cry.

On windy days, pick the 2nd-floor window sofa over outdoor seats
Aewolbon Café has outdoor seats too, but the wind that day was... ugh... seriously strong, so we couldn't sit outside and grabbed the comfy sofa seats right by the window instead.
We went back down to see the 1st-floor sea view again, haha. Why is the sea pretty no matter how many times you look? We went "wow~" for a good while, then slowly wandered around the shop...

Desserts at Aewolbon Café
Aewolbon Café sells simple desserts as well as drinks! We were heading straight to a meal so we didn't try any, but the scones looked so good.

There were quite a few orders ahead of ours, so it looked like a longer wait, and we went back up to the 2nd floor...! Haha, back and forth, we just can't sit still..

They brought our drinks over quickly! They must have been heavy, thank you so much.....

Why the grapefruit ade is a starred item at Aewolbon Café
The grapefruit ade (₩9,000) at Aewolbon Café comes topped with this much fresh grapefruit, peeled all the way down past the thin membrane....!! There's a reason for that star sticker.. The ade has plenty of grapefruit syrup in it, and the fresh grapefruit isn't overdone and is so refreshing, so delicious, I could cry.

What does the Udo peanut latte taste like with an extra shot?
The Udo peanut latte (₩8,000) at Aewolbon Café normally has no coffee shot, but we added one! It tasted a bit like yulmu-cha (Job's tears tea)....? That kind of nutty and sweet flavor, with the deep nuttiness of peanut on top, I'd say, haha
With the shot added, the bitterness of coffee joined in and made it even tastier, haha. If you like nutty, sweet drinks, it's worth a try!
Mango and strawberry yogurt smoothies at Aewolbon Café
The mango and strawberry yogurt smoothies (₩8,500 each) at Aewolbon Café were tangy and sweet and delicious too! Everyone was happy with their own drink, and we sipped away and had our fill of the sea, haha. It was our last day in Jeju so I was full of regret, but spending a relaxed time looking at such a pretty sea felt so good.

Is Aewolbon Café a good rest stop on an Aewol coastal drive?
The sea view out the window at Aewolbon Café was so, so pretty that I think it'll stay in my memory! The drinks were tasty, parking was easy and the seating was roomy, so it's a perfect place to stop and rest during an Aewol drive, haha

Every time I go to Jeju I feel it again: you never get tired of the sea no matter how much you look at it. Next time I want to come on a less windy day and zone out at the sea from the outdoor seats 😃
