Banwoldang Bujasikdang is a Korean restaurant on Gwandeokjeong-gil in Jung-gu, Daegu, specialising in fire-grilled stone-plate short rib and pork stir-fry. On a Saturday lunch visit there were 5 parties ahead and a 10-minute wait, and fire-grilled buja seokgalbi for two plus two bowls of black rice came to ₩30,000, with the country-style cheonggukjang (fermented soybean) stew that comes free with the rib tasting deep and rich despite its clear-looking broth. Portions at Banwoldang Bujasikdang are generous and high chairs are available for families, but parking is limited to 3 spaces in front of the restaurant.

Board game café near Jamsil Stadium: Sunshine package, One Play

One Play Jamsil Branch is a board game, manga, and PlayStation café in Songpa, Seoul, a 15-minute walk from Jamsil Baseball Stadium. Because weekends are package-only, two visitors took the Sunshine package (1 hour plus a drink, 7,000 won) for a second-floor PlayStation room and ordered a spam and egg rice bowl, Chapagetti instant noodles with egg, and Bburing cheese balls while playing Overcooked. One Play Jamsil Branch is an easy indoor way to fill the hours before a baseball game.

Cheongju Korean restaurant with front and back parking: Jeju Badang

Jeju Badang is a Korean grilled and braised fish restaurant near Gagyeong Xi Apartments in Gagyeong-dong, Cheongju. The lunch special of half-grilled mackerel with pot rice and boneless Jeju hairtail stew with pot rice came to 40,000 won after a 1,000-won discount per dish, served with japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), boneless fried chicken and iced tea from the self-bar. With roomy parking lots in front of and behind the building, baby chairs and a kids' play space, Jeju Badang works well for a family lunch.
