Bucheon Chinese spot, jjambbong with Terra beer: Jjambbong Jijon
In short
Jjambbong Jijon Bucheon Jung-dong Branch is a jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle soup) specialist Chinese restaurant in Sinjungdong, Bucheon, facing Bucheon Central Park near City Hall Station. The writer paired sujebi jjambbong in the original Jijon flavor (hand-torn dough flakes instead of noodles), a small glutinous-rice tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) and jjambbong dumplings from the review event with Terra beer, and especially liked the chewy sujebi, freshly fried tangsuyuk and generous portions. Jjambbong Jijon is a good-value Chinese restaurant for both a meal and drinks in one sitting.

Jjambbong Jijon near Bucheon City Hall Station

I visited Jjambbong Jijon (짬뽕지존), the famous jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle soup) place in front of Bucheon Central Park, a well-known Bucheon City Hall area favorite. From the original Jijon flavor to Hell flavor levels 1–4, it's where you go to sweat out your stress with a fiery bowl.
With a free extra-side-dish self-bar for every customer plus free extra rice, even a single jjajangmyeon or jjambbong fills you up. Right now jjajangmyeon is on a ₩7,000 promotion, and with the review event dumplings (5 pieces) you get jjajangmyeon + jjajang rice + dumplings for ₩7,000. Crazy value for a Bucheon City Hall Chinese restaurant.
Instead of my usual noodles, I ordered Jjambbong Jijon's own sujebi jjambbong, and this place is a sujebi paradise... life-changing sujebi jjambbong 🥹 I came to cure a hangover and drink at the same time, so here's my detailed review. Let's go~
Jjambbong Jijon Jung-dong Branch: hours, location and parking

Jjambbong Jijon in Sinjungdong sits at the entrance of the diagonal road beside Bucheon Central Park, at the intersection right in front of Jungdong Prugio. It's visible from both the main intersection and the alley facing Jungdong Rodeo Street, a handy jjambbong specialist for a solo meal while passing by.
Both the underground garage in the building and the public lot of the old bus terminal right in front are free. The building garage gives 2 hours free and the public lot 1 hour free, so it's easy to drive over for a family meal.
Inside Jjambbong Jijon and ordering by kiosk
The Jung-dong Branch is a bright, clean Chinese restaurant with high ceilings and an open hall. Tables are easy to push together, so it works for group gatherings near Bucheon Central Park too. A friendly staff member showed us to our seats, and we ordered.

Every table has an ordering kiosk with menu descriptions and photos. You can customize by jjambbong type, noodle type and spice level to your taste.

Jjambbong Jijon spice levels: how hot is the basic flavor?
The jjambbong comes in the signature Jijon flavor and Hell levels 1–4. The names scared me, so I went with the chef's recommended basic flavor, and a heads-up: it was less spicy than Shin Ramyun. It's the kind of heat that's pleasantly fiery without upsetting your stomach. If you love spicy food, I recommend challenging the Hell flavor 👍
Jjambbong Jijon mainly sells the three great Chinese-restaurant dishes: jjambbong, jjajangmyeon and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork).

There's also fried rice for kids, kongguksu (cold soy milk noodles) as a summer seasonal menu, and fried dumplings you can choose in original or jjambbong flavor. Most people will order the fried dumplings as a side to their main!
How to get 5 free dumplings with the Jjambbong Jijon review event

Join the Naver receipt review event to boost the value even more 💞 Write a review and you get 5 dumplings as a service. The à la carte sampler is 4 pieces for ₩4,500, wow, so you're getting roughly ₩5,000 worth for free! You can choose original or jjambbong fried dumplings, and maybe because it's Jjambbong Jijon, the jjambbong dumplings are insanely good 👍
Jjambbong Jijon side dishes and the free self-bar

The basic side dishes served after ordering are danmuji (yellow pickled radish) and zha cai (Sichuan pickled mustard stem) salad. Pickled radish spoils easily in hot summer, but here it came hygienically in small sealed packs. The zha cai isn't salty, it's tangy and spicy with a nice crunch.

This is the Jjambbong Jijon self-bar with all the basic sides, extra side dishes and free extra rice. Staff keep it tidy all the time, so it was clean and neat.
Besides the sides served to you, there are onions, Cheongyang chili peppers and kimchi. There are also bean sprouts you can add as a jjambbong topping 🥹 The menu has a rice noodle jjambbong, and crunchy bean sprouts go well with the spicy broth. If you order Hell flavor and it's too hot, neutralize it with bean sprouts, go go go
Drinking Terra beer with jjambbong at Jjambbong Jijon

Today I'm drinking with the jjambbong broth~ I ordered a bottle of Terra beer, plus the soda you get from the Naver review event. It came in a PET bottle rather than a can, which was nice for sharing.
Jjambbong Jijon sujebi jjambbong, Jijon flavor: portion and taste

First up is the sujebi jjambbong in Jijon flavor. Instead of noodles it's packed with potato sujebi, and my first impression of the bowl: the broth color is deep!
The portion first: the bowl is filled to a heap, so you don't need extra rice. Most jjambbong places pad the volume with mussel shells, but Jjambbong Jijon in Sinjungdong takes the shells out in advance. It's packed with clam meat, squid and other seafood, all kinds of vegetables and sujebi only. I think you get 1.2 to 1.5 times the usual jjambbong portion.
There's so much stuff in it that the broth looks like it's boiled down 😇 A generous, great-value jjambbong place.

And the most important part, the taste~~~~ wow, the sujebi is insane. Seriously, so good
The broth itself is flawless, a perfect jjambbong broth. Rich meat stock plus refreshing, savory seafood, with a spicy, nutty depth that sticks right to it, exactly the fiery taste you picture when you think of good jjambbong. There are lots of nationally famous jjambbong places these days, so I thought, hmm, this one has a nice wok flavor and is tasty~, but the sujebi is seriously insane..
It's not that supermarket sujebi you get for ₩2,000 extra in maeuntang (spicy fish stew). Do they make the dough separately? For starters, the sujebi is bigger than a spoon. Thick parts and thin parts both exist, so you feel soft, springy and chewy textures all at once. Beyond potato, maybe there's tapioca starch in it; it's bouncy and chewy, even bouncier than Yupdduk tteokbokki. 🥹
I love chewy textures and Jjambbong Jijon's sujebi is number one. If you're tired of the same noodles every time, I recommend ordering sujebi!! The sujebi is so good...
Jjambbong Jijon small glutinous tangsuyuk: how many people does it feed?

Crispy fried food is a must with drinks, so I ordered the small glutinous tangsuyuk. It's fried to order so it takes a while, but freshly fried tangsuyuk is never bad, you know..

You can choose pour-on (bumeok) or dip (jjikmeok), and even when I chose pour-on, they thoughtfully served the pork and sauce separately. The freshly fried tangsuyuk is topped with crunchy shredded onion with the sharpness taken out, and plump fried sweet potato sits on top too.
I ordered the small, but it's about a medium at other Chinese restaurants. It's a lot for two people to share, and fine for 3–4 people too. Two of us ordered jjambbong + tangsuyuk and the amount was seriously huge.

One bite with crunchy onion on top~~ the signature crispy, chewy glutinous batter is amazing..🥹 The meat isn't dry; it's mild, tender pork loin. The frying is flawless too. The batter is so good it's tasty even without sauce!! The sauce is the usual sweet and sour kind.
And the glutinous tangsuyuk here is good dipped, but pour-on is the real deal. Left on the sauce, the batter soaks it up and gets bouncy, beyond chewy, kind of like guobaorou (Chinese crispy sweet and sour pork), and it's insanely good... the beer just goes down. 😇
Jjambbong Jijon's free jjambbong dumplings: how are they?
These are the jjambbong dumplings you get as a service with the review event. They're called fried dumplings (gunmandu), but they're really deep-fried dumplings.

Maybe because it's a jjambbong specialist, these jjambbong dumplings are great... not a cheap factory-dumpling feel, at least Bibigo gyoza level. (High praise in the dumpling world.) I'm more of a kimchi dumpling person than a meat dumpling one, since meat dumplings get greasy and I tire of them fast.
Jjambbong Jijon's jjambbong dumplings are meat-based, but the spicy-sweet jjambbong flavor keeps the meat from getting boring so you keep inhaling them..🤤 The jjambbong spiciness pairs so well with the nutty fried wrapper. Definitely get these!!!!

The fried sweet potato tastes homemade. Moist and soft inside, crispy batter outside. Fried neatly without any tricks, so it's familiar and delicious, with fluffy chestnut sweet potato inside.

A drink with crispy, nutty fried sweet potato~ then a spoonful of the magical jjambbong broth that cures your hangover as you drink 🥹 It's a value drinking spot with a Chinese restaurant hiding inside.. Fill up on broth and carbs with the jjambbong, and the freshly fried tangsuyuk is big and high quality!! Come drink with jjambbong at Jjambbong Jijon in Sinjungdong, where the jjambbong broth is great. Go go
We finished round 1 and round 2 in one spot.😇 Stuffed and happy!! There's one corner to stop by on your way out after paying.
What's at the Jjambbong Jijon dessert self-bar?

It's the dessert self-bar corner~😉 Milk coffee, black coffee, hot chocolate, Job's tears tea, omija (five-flavor berry) tea, maesil (green plum) tea and more, a collection of after-meal teas with everything you could want. They even put up a kind note saying delivery riders can use it freely, not just dine-in guests.🥹 The generous service and kindness left me in a good mood all the way out, a great Bucheon City Hall favorite, Jjambbong Jijon.
Right now for the 5th anniversary, Jjambbong Jijon offers jjajangmyeon for ₩7,000, a side dish self-bar, free extra rice, 5 fried dumplings for a review and even after-meal drinks. A reliable, generous place. How about jjambbong plus jjajangmyeon this weekend!!
