Pocheon pasta restaurant, weekday lunch: beef tomato pasta, Eoneu Dal

In short

Eoneu Dal (어느달) is a Western-style pasta restaurant on Jeongmundong-gil in Pocheon, Gyeonggi, and a popular stop for people looking for somewhere to eat near Pocheon Art Valley. On a weekday lunch in early June, the writer booked through Catch Table and came with her husband and younger sibling, ordering four dishes: beef tomato pasta, garlic shrimp pasta, original carbonara pasta and shrimp pilaf. The portions were generous enough to leave all three full. With its own parking lot, group seating and baby chairs, Eoneu Dal is an easy choice in Pocheon for a family meal or a date.

We were wondering where to go too, and then we found this Western restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and great food 🥹

Inside Eoneu Dal: atmosphere and seating

The interior is really clean and stylish, and it put me in a good mood the moment we walked in 🪑 The group seating is also very well set up, so I think even a get-together or a big family could eat comfortably here 😉

What three of us ordered at Eoneu Dal, and how ordering works

The three of us ordered 4 dishes in total: 3 pastas plus a pilaf. We just love eating 📋

You order through the Tabling QR code placed on the table 👍

  • Beef tomato pasta
  • Garlic shrimp pasta
  • Original carbonara pasta
  • Shrimp pilaf

The pasta portions are generous, so the restaurant recommends 1 pasta, 1 salad and 1 steak for 2 people. Keep that in mind!! 🤭

Salt bread served before the meal

Not long after we ordered, salt bread came out as the starter bread, along with our drinks. Having salt bread instead of the usual morning rolls was a real treat!!

Then all the mains arrived, looking mouthwatering!! 🍴 The bowls were packed full, and the portions were so generous that I can easily recommend it as a Pocheon restaurant with good value 👏 The plating was so eye-catching that I was busy taking photos!!

What does Eoneu Dal's beef tomato pasta taste like?

The beef tomato pasta is a tomato pasta neatly topped with beef eye of round (hongdukkae-sal) 🍅 I tried it first, and it caught my eye even before I took a bite!!

There's plenty of minced meat in the tomato sauce, so the texture was really good, and eaten together with the thinly sliced beef, it was a dish I kept reaching for 🤤

Eoneu Dal's garlic shrimp pasta, loaded with toppings

The garlic shrimp pasta stood out right away for how generously it was loaded 🦐

Plump, big shrimp sit on top, with plenty of fresh zucchini and king oyster mushrooms alongside, so it was quite impressive just to look at!! ✨️

When I actually ate it, the subtle garlic aroma went really well with the water dropwort (minari) laid on the bottom. Each fresh ingredient shines, and I could see why Eoneu Dal is known as a go-to Pocheon pasta spot!! 👏

Is Eoneu Dal's original carbonara made with cream?

No. The original carbonara isn't a cream sauce but the classic original style: rich egg yolk with plenty of soft, salty bacon on top 🥓 This was the dish I was really looking forward to!!

A subtle truffle oil aroma spreads out, and the deep flavor filled my mouth from the very first bite, so every mouthful made me so happy!! 🤭

Eoneu Dal's shrimp pilaf, a filling rice dish

Finally, for something filling, I picked a rice dish: the shrimp pilaf 🥹

The buttery aroma is gentle and not overpowering, and the generous plump shrimp blend nicely with the well-fried rice. It's a dish anyone, young or old, can enjoy 🧈

My husband and sibling both eat a lot, so I worried the amount might not be enough, but thanks to the hearty portions of the 3 pastas and the pilaf, everyone finished full and satisfied.

Is Eoneu Dal good for families with kids?

Baby chairs are well prepared too, so it's a Pocheon pasta spot that's easy to visit with a little one 👶

It was such a rewarding day, having a lovely time with my husband and sibling after so long ✨️ If you're heading to Pocheon, I really, really recommend stopping by the Western restaurant Eoneu Dal!!
