Wangsimni dessert café: Basque cheesecake vs egg tart, Eojil In
In short
Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch is a two-floor dessert café right by Exit 6 of Wangsimni Station in Seongdong, Seoul. The blogger and a partner came for the signature Milk Bowl, but a machine problem meant ordering a chocolate latte and a milk einspänner instead, plus the signature Basque cheesecake and an egg tart, and neither dessert was overly sweet. The verdict: Eojil In's dense Basque cheesecake edged out the egg tart as the favourite.

Today my partner and I visited Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch (어질 인 왕십리역점), right in front of Wangsimni Station, haha. I was hunting for a dessert café in Wangsimni and ended up with dense Basque cheesecake and an egg tart too!
We actually went to try the signature Milk Bowl. But the machine had a problem that day and ordering it wasn't possible, so we picked other drinks. The desserts were totally my taste anyway, lol. Okay, let me start the review!
Where is Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch, and is there parking?
Eojil In is at 18 Majo-ro 9-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on the 1st and 2nd floors, about 35m from Exit 6 of Wangsimni Station. Parking is available for up to 2 cars on the 1st floor.

- Address: 18 Majo-ro 9-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, floors 1–2
- Hours: daily 09:00–22:30 (last order 22:00)
- Pets allowed
- Parking: up to 2 cars on the 1st floor
It's really right in front of the station, so it's easy to get to, haha. I thought it would also work well when you're meeting someone near Wangsimni Station. If you're coming by car, keep in mind there are only 2 parking spots!
Is Eojil In spacious? The ground-floor bookshelf and unusual staircase
Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch has two floors. The 1st floor has a dessert display case, and one side has a bookshelf too.

Books in a café gave it a different feel, haha. And what I personally liked was that the space was large and didn't feel stuffy!

You can go up to the 2nd floor by the stairs, and the stairs have a unique shape, so I took a photo, lol.
The 2nd floor had a variety of seats too. I thought it would be a nice place to spend time with my partner over dessert, haha.
Desserts at Eojil In: financiers, madeleines, egg tarts and cakes
Eojil In had a wide range of desserts, from financiers (small almond butter cakes) and madeleines to egg tarts and cakes!

There were several kinds of financiers too: cream cheese, classic, churros and Valrhona chocolate.

The madeleines came in lots of varieties too, so if you like baked sweets, I think choosing will be fun, haha.

They also have gift boxes, so I thought it would be good for dessert gifts :) We picked the Basque cheesecake and the egg tart that day!
What we ordered at Eojil In and the prices

- Chocolate latte ₩6,000
- Milk einspänner ₩5,900
- Signature Basque cheesecake ₩5,900
- Egg tart ₩3,800
We ordered these four, haha. ₩21,600 in total! For drinks, my partner chose the chocolate latte and I chose the milk einspänner (a coffee topped with cream).

Is Eojil In's chocolate latte rich? My partner's usual pick
The Eojil In chocolate latte (₩6,000) isn't super rich, but the verdict was that it's tasty. My partner loves chocolate lattes so much that they order one at almost every café, lol. This time too, of course, the chocolate latte!
After trying it, the comment was, "It's not that rich, but it's good." LOL It's a verdict from a chocolate latte lover, so it makes me curious, haha. It seems it tasted good to my partner.
Milk einspänner at Eojil In: the sweet cream is the highlight

The Eojil In milk einspänner (₩5,900) had a slightly firm cream and was on the sweet side. With an einspänner, what kind of cream sits on top matters, right? The cream here felt a bit firmer rather than dense and chewy, and it was sweet! I think people who like sweet coffee will enjoy it, haha.
Eojil In Basque cheesecake: dense but not too sweet

My favorite that day was the signature Basque cheesecake (₩5,900)! First of all, it's super dense. I already like dense cheesecake, and this was exactly the texture I love, haha.

Another plus: it wasn't very sweet, which I didn't expect. When cheesecake is too sweet, I sometimes get tired of it halfway, but this one wasn't overly sweet, which I liked. A really dense texture and a flavor that's not very sweet? Totally my taste, lol.
My partner tried a bite and said, "Oh~ this is good," haha. We both enjoyed it.
Eojil In egg tart: crisp pastry with a soft filling

The Eojil In egg tart (₩3,800) had a pastry-style crust on the outside.

When I cut it in half, I could clearly see the layered pastry and the filling inside. The crust was crisp, and the filling was soft and moderately sweet. Like the cheesecake, the egg tart wasn't overly sweet, which I liked, haha.
Basque cheesecake vs egg tart at Eojil In: which wins?

Of everything we ate at Eojil In that day, the dense Basque cheesecake was definitely the most my taste. It's easy to reach, right in front of Wangsimni Station, the space is big, and there's a wide variety of desserts, so it was a nice place to spend time with my partner, haha.
Next time I want to try the signature Milk Bowl we missed, plus the financiers and madeleines! If you're looking for a dessert café near Wangsimni Station, give Eojil In a look :)
What about you: do you prefer Basque cheesecake dense or soft? I'm on team dense, of course, lol.
