In short
Kkeut Daeheung-dong Main Branch (끝 대흥동 본점) is a pub-style bar serving cooked dishes on Jungangno 112beon-gil in Daeheung-dong, Jung-gu, Daejeon. On a second-round visit, the writer ordered the spoonable pizza and a Kozel Dark with cinnamon powder around the rim. What is Kkeut Daeheung-dong Main Branch?
Kkeut Daehwa-dong Main Branch is a cooking bar (yori jujeom) in Daeheung-dong, tucked inside the Jungangno nightlife area near Jungangno Station in Daejeon. It's open Mon–Sun 17:00–02:00, so it works well as a second round after dinner.

I went to Kkeut, a great Daeheung-dong spot in Daejeon. It was my second round, so I only got to eat one dish, which is a shame. The quality was great and the owner was so kind that I'd love to come back on my next trip.

Is Kkeut a good bar for a date in Daeheung-dong?
Kkeut Daehwa-dong Main Branch sits a bit deeper in than the main Daeheung-dong street, near the Jung-gu Health Sub-center intersection, so there isn't much foot traffic, and I actually liked that. Inside, the lighting is on the dark side like a pub, and the tables are spaced widely. The windows were wide open, so a gentle breeze came in from outside. I recommend it as a date spot in Daeheung-dong, Daejeon.

The 4-person tables are lined up in a row, and as I said, they're spaced far apart. The tables are big, so it's great for coming with a group and ordering several dishes.
Kkeut Daeheung-dong Main Branch menu and portion sizes
The menu at Kkeut Daehwa-dong Main Branch was nicely divided by category. The prices are there, but if two people share one dish, the portion is plenty. The quality is so good that the food feels like it came from a restaurant that only sells that one dish. They also have meal-type dishes, so if you're filling up at the first stop, those would be good too.

Drink selection and the cinnamon-rimmed Kozel Dark
Kkeut Daehwa-dong Main Branch has a wide range of drinks: not just wine but traditional Korean liquor, whisky, imported beer and highballs, so it's great for company dinners or group outings where tastes differ. I'm normally a soju person, but this time I ordered a Kozel Dark as well as Saero (a soju brand).

Dark beer and cinnamon powder go together well, of course. They coated the rim of the glass generously, which looked great and brought out the bittersweet flavor of the Kozel Dark even more. I was very happy with it.

The beer was poured a bit carelessly, so there's a lot of foam, but that layer tastes great with the cinnamon anyway, so I didn't mind. Next time I'd like to skip soju and have a light highball or beer at Kkeut. The food is tasty and generous, so I think it's best to enjoy it slowly, pub-style.

How does Kkeut's spoonable pizza taste?
The main dish I ordered at Kkeut Daehwa-dong Main Branch was the spoonable pizza (a pizza served in a dish and eaten with a spoon). While I was munching on the complimentary chicken drumstick-shaped snack, time flew and the pizza arrived. I was happy to see that kind of snack again after so long, but picking at it with my drinks, it was almost scary how fast it disappeared.

The spoonable pizza looks seriously fierce, right? It has the polish of something from a specialty restaurant, a generous portion, a piping hot temperature, and it even comes with bread to go with it.

The stretchy cheese is amazing too. I took a bite before it cooled down. It's a really well-made pizza with a rich tomato flavor. Vegetables and mushrooms are packed generously inside, which made the texture varied, and I was happy with it.

How many people does one spoonable pizza feed?
The spoonable pizza at Kkeut Daehwa-dong Main Branch was big enough that two people could have it as a meal. As bar food, I think ordering it for three would be fine. The layers are surprisingly thick and the ingredients are used without holding back, so it's really filling.
Savory, salty pepperoni and cheese hold the overall seasoning together, while the tang of the olives and the sweetness of the mushrooms and onions are the highlights. I highly recommend it as a great Daeheung-dong spot in Daejeon.

What bread comes with the spoonable pizza?
The bread served with the spoonable pizza comes in 3 kinds, so you can try a variety, and adding carbs makes it very filling. Even though I'd eaten a lot of chicken at the first stop, I couldn't put my spoon down and kept inhaling it, it's that bold and addictive.

There's crispy bread and also soft, floppy bread like in the photo. But the crispy one is tastier. Scoop the pizza with your spoon, put it on the bread, and you've got a real pizza!
If you're looking for a great spot in Daeheung-dong, Daejeon, definitely visit Kkeut Daehwa-dong Main Branch and be sure to order the spoonable pizza. I also highly recommend it as a date spot with a great mood.
