Draft beer and cheese kimchi pancake at Yeouido bar Wine Joomak Chacha

Wine Joomak Chacha Yeouido Station Branch is a wine bar with Korean-style bar food about a 1-minute walk from Exit 3 of Yeouido Station in Seoul. The writer visited with her husband and ordered Stella draft beer and cheese kimchijeon (cheese kimchi pancake), and also noticed the 12 Wine Ladder Game for wine beginners and private rooms. Wine Joomak Chacha is an easy place to enjoy even if you pick draft beer over wine.

Yeouido izakaya round two: cheese odeng nabe set, Robadayakki Sodam

Robadayakki Sodam Yeouido Branch is a Japanese-style izakaya near Yeouido Station and Saetgang Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. The writer stopped by for round two with her husband and ordered the two-person set of mixed skewers and odeng nabe (fish cake hot pot) with draft beer, and the generous fish cakes, the cheese odeng and the skewers grilled right in front of them stood out most. Robadayakki Sodam is an easy place to sit back, talk and share a drink.

Seocho gimbap restaurant dakgangjeong takeout, crispy when cold: Halls

Halls Gimbap Main Branch (홀스김밥본점) is a bunsik (Korean street food) restaurant in Seocho, Seoul, near Exit 1 of Gyodae Station, and it is the former Oto Gimbap Seocho with the same owner and staff under a new name. On this visit the dakgangjeong (Korean fried chicken bites) was ordered on its own for takeout and eaten at home, where the batter stayed crisp instead of turning soggy even after it cooled, with boneless thigh meat and cheongyang chili in the mix. Halls Gimbap Main Branch is worth a stop near Gyodae Station for both solo dining and takeout.
