Yaksu hair salon: medium layered cut & bangs trim, Hair Studio Baekga
In short
Hair Studio Baekga Yaksu Station is a hair salon on Dongho-ro in Jung-gu, Seoul, within a 3-minute walk of Yaksu Station Exit 3. To tidy grown-out hair, the writer got a medium-length layered cut from the deputy director at Hair Studio Baekga. The cut took off only a little length to avoid the awkward grow-out stage and trimmed eye-poking see-through bangs to brow length; cuts start at ₩25,000. The once-heavy hair came out lighter with visible layers, making Hair Studio Baekga a Yaksu Station salon worth revisiting.

A hair salon near Yaksu Station: Hair Studio Baekga Yaksu Station.
My hair had grown out to an awkward in-between length and I wanted to tidy it up and change my style, so I booked a cut at Hair Studio Baekga Yaksu Station, a hair salon near Yaksu Station. I had tagged along here when my boyfriend got his cut last time, so it wasn't hard to find.

Where is Hair Studio Baekga Yaksu Station, and is there parking?
Hair Studio Baekga Yaksu Station is within a 3-minute walk of Exit 3 of Yaksu Station, so it's very easy to reach by public transport. The building has a full glass facade, which gives it a sleek, clean look, and there is parking in front of the building, so coming by car looked fine too.
How much are cuts, color and perms at Hair Studio Baekga?
At Hair Studio Baekga Yaksu Station, cuts start at ₩25,000, dye at ₩70,000 and a standard perm at ₩84,000. You can check the price list in advance on Naver Place and on the signboard outside the shop. Prices differ depending on the rank of the designer you book, so check before reserving your Yaksu Station hair salon appointment.

What is Hair Studio Baekga Yaksu Station like inside?
The interior is a clean, modern look in white tones throughout. It's a duplex layout, so the ceilings are high and the space feels open. The styling seats are spaced generously, so you don't have to worry about the person next to you, and I liked how each seat feels like its own private styling space.

How did the medium layered cut consultation go?
I booked the medium layered cut in advance through Naver Reservation and requested the deputy director (buwon-jang). Looking at the profile, medium layered cuts, tassel cuts and brown color are their signatures. Before the cut I showed the reference photos I had brought for a quick consultation, then had a shampoo at the shampoo station and went straight into the cut. My hair wasn't very long to begin with, so we agreed to trim only a little length and avoid the awkward in-between zone (what Koreans call the "beggar zone").

How were the eye-poking see-through bangs trimmed?
My see-through bangs had grown so long they were poking my eyes, so they were cut up to brow length, and the whole head was thinned out so the layered cut would have a light texture. I'd had see-through bangs cut last time, and they had grown out into a stuffy mess by now.
Without my even asking, the deputy director, who specializes in medium layered cuts, tidied the ends, cut the face-framing wisps (aegyo-meori), and blended the bangs and side hair naturally.

How did the medium layered cut turn out?
The medium layered cut finished at Hair Studio Baekga Yaksu Station looked even better compared with the before. My hair, which had felt heavy, became much lighter, and the natural layers brought the style to life. With the stuffy bangs tidied up, my whole impression looked different. After the cut, they kindly showed me how to blow-dry it so I can keep the style easily on my own, along with some home care tips.

With this visit I've now tried both a women's cut and a men's cut at this Yaksu Station salon. I liked the easy access by public transport, the clean interior, the kind designer and the natural result, so if I'm looking for a salon near Yaksu Station again, I'll probably come back.
