Bucheon fish restaurant, mackerel without kitchen smell: Gim Myeongju
In short
Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch (김명주뜰안채밥상 부천본점) is a Korean restaurant on Gilju-ro 560beon-gil in Wonmi-gu, Bucheon. The writer ate grilled mackerel, a hassle to cook at home, with stone pot rice, cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew), fried eggplant and other side dishes, and refilled the side dishes at a self-serve bar. Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang is a good pick for a filling Korean meal built around grilled fish in Bucheon.

Today I'm bringing you a story about a hearty Korean meal I finally got to enjoy in a while~ It's Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch (김명주뜰안채밥상 부천본점) in Bucheon!
When you're choosing where to eat out, sometimes you don't want meat or anything heavily seasoned, right? Haha, you just crave warm rice with lots of side dishes. Grilled fish especially is a pain to cook at home because of the smell and the cleanup, so eating it out is so much more comfortable!
This time I enjoyed savory grilled mackerel with lots of side dishes and stone pot rice. Let me show you what the meal looked like 💛

Where is Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bucheon Main Branch, and is there parking?
Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bucheon Main Branch is on Gilju-ro 560beon-gil in Wonmi-gu, Bucheon, and it has its own parking lot. That makes it easy to visit by car, and the inside is fairly spacious, so it works well for a family meal or a group!

The Korean set meal spread at Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae
Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae is a Korean restaurant where you get warm pot rice, cheonggukjang and lots of side dishes all together as one table setting. There's a good variety of Korean dishes, so it seemed like a nice place to bring your parents or just to sit down to a neat, full table!
At a Korean restaurant the main dish matters, but I also check how many kinds of side dishes come out. It's fun to eat a little of each rather than just one dish, so anyone who likes Korean food should be happy here. Rice, soup and sides all come together, so it fills you up nicely, haha

Side dishes with namul, kimchi and fried eggplant
The side dishes included namul (seasoned vegetables), kimchi, stir-fried sides and even fried eggplant! With a table like this, where a little of everything comes out, you wonder where to start lol

When you think about preparing all of these just for one meal at home, you see why people come out for a hanjeongsik-style (full-course Korean) spread, haha. It's fun to taste them one by one, and they go well with the grilled mackerel too! I thought I'd focus only on the mackerel, but the side dishes kept catching my eye. It was a generous table!

Refills at the side-dish self-serve bar
Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bucheon Main Branch has a self-serve side-dish bar, so if you run out of something, you can go grab more yourself. Being able to eat your favorite sides as much as you like made it even more satisfying, haha

How was the grilled mackerel at Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae?
The charm of the grilled mackerel here is putting the golden-grilled fish meat on top of warm rice, haha. It has a savory flavor that suits rice and goes well with the other side dishes too.

Pulling the fish apart and eating it with rice makes for a filling meal. If you already love grilled fish, this will be a familiar and welcome dish!

Cheonggukjang served with the grilled mackerel
The table also came with cheonggukjang, which no Korean meal can do without! 😊 The rich, earthy stew is great with rice and goes well with the mackerel and the various side dishes too.
Take a bite of fish with rice, then a spoonful of cheonggukjang, and the savory depth adds up to a complete, filling meal! Thanks to that distinctive cheonggukjang flavor, it really felt like a proper Korean table.
