Summer pork belly BBQ in Yangjae, grilled by staff: Namhang Kkeutjip
In short
Namhang Kkeutjip Yangjae Main Branch (남항끝집 양재본점) is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Exit 2 of Yangjae Station in Seocho, Seoul, serving salt-grilled selected Handon (Korean-raised pork). The staff at Namhang Kkeutjip grill both the pork belly and pork neck and bring them to the table, so diners only pick up and eat, and side dishes like whole garlic, myeongi (pickled wild garlic leaves) and wasabi, along with a rich doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), pair well with the salt-grilled pork. What kind of place is Namhang Kkeutjip?
Namhang Kkeutjip is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Yangjae Station specializing in salt-grilled selected Korean pork (hanjeon). Today I'm telling you about my visit to this salt-grilled pork spot near Yangjae Station 🎶

Namhang Kkeutjip! If you're looking for a good restaurant, a Korean BBQ place or a company dinner spot in Yangjae, listen up 👀

Inside, every table has a round grill set up. The dark ceiling with exposed pipes fits the mood perfectly 🖤

I'd booked ahead, so the table was already set when we arrived!

How is the menu at Namhang Kkeutjip organized?
The menu has salt-grilled sets and à la carte items, plus meal dishes and dessert items.

The aged pork skin (sukseong kkeopdegi) is ₩9,000... sob. From the way it looked, I knew I had to order it. It's the one I'll definitely try next visit 👀

Side dishes worthy of a salt-grilling restaurant
The basic sides at Namhang Kkeutjip include whole garlic cloves, wasabi, coarse salt, myeongi namul (pickled wild garlic-like greens) and pickled onion and chili. The lineup is honestly really solid, yep. It suits a salt-grill place perfectly 🧂

For salt-grilled meat, coarse salt plus wasabi is the combo... sob. And with myeongi namul on top, your palate gets cleansed perfectly the whole way through the meal 🌿

The lettuce salad with gochujang (chili paste) dressing was also nice for refreshing the palate between bites of meat! 👍

Do the staff grill the meat at Namhang Kkeutjip?
Yes, the staff grill all the meat and bring it to you! You just pick up the cooked meat at your seat, which made the whole experience really comfortable and nice!

Doenjang stew bubbling in an earthenware pot... sob. The broth was rich and thick, and eaten with the meat it cut the greasiness perfectly 🍲✨

Look at the grill with pork belly and pork neck cooked evenly! In the middle there's a sauce cup, kimchi and minari (water dropwort) on top too.

The salt-grilled meat at Namhang Kkeutjip comes out already nicely grilled, which was so, so convenient. Especially in summer, it was great not to get hot. Your hands just can't stop, yep. Pork belly and pork neck are a perfect pair 🔥

What's the best way to eat salt-grilled Korean pork?
With selected Korean pork salt-grilled, dipping it in coarse salt is the golden rule... sob. The natural flavor of the meat really pops, and it was truly delicious 🧂

Dipped in Namhang Kkeutjip's secret sauce, the savory-salty flavor was so good! 😁👍

Grill some kimchi on the pan alongside and the crunch plus the juices bursting from the meat make this a Yangjae JMT (insanely delicious) spot, no doubt! 🌶️

There was myeongi garlic too, and I happily munched away! ❤️👍👍
Namhang Kkeutjip checkpoints
- Salt-grilled selected Korean pork: staff grill it for you, and dipped in coarse salt and wasabi the meat's natural flavor really pops 🧂🔥
- Solid side dishes: whole garlic and myeongi garlic, and every side is good quality, as you'd expect from a salt-grill place 🥬
- Get the doenjang stew: the rich stew boiling in an earthenware pot cuts the greasiness of the meat, so I highly recommend ordering it with the meat 🍲
