In short
Munhwa Bakery (문화제빵) is a takeout-only bakery at 1F, 65 Donhwamun-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul, near Jongno 3-ga Station Exit 7. On a hot day out in Jongno to see a show, the writer reluctantly skipped Munhwa Bakery's garlic bread and coffee bread and took home a rice chestnut loaf, a rice cheese loaf and a walnut bun for ₩15,200. I went on an outing to Jongno to see a show!! And I took home some delicious bread from Munhwa Bakery (문화제빵), a Jongno 3-ga bakery that's a must-stop on any Ikseon-dong bakery tour~~
Where is Munhwa Bakery, what are the hours, and is there parking?

Munhwa Bakery is at 1F, 65 Donhwamun-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul, close to Jongno 3-ga Station Exit 7. It's open from 11:00 to 20:00, and there is no separate parking space.
Walk a little after leaving Jongno 3-ga Station and a bakery in a pretty building pops right into view.^^ Fall is perfect for a day out, right? It's a great spot to drop by during a Jongno outing~

Can you eat inside Munhwa Bakery?
Munhwa Bakery is a takeout-only shop, so there's no eating area and you can only get your bread to go. The space inside is also small, so you may have to wait a bit!
Still, since it's all just packing things up, the line moves quickly.^^

What should you buy on a first visit to Munhwa Bakery?
For a first visit, I highly, highly recommend the garlic bread and the coffee bread!! Just note that both taste best when eaten the same day.^^
The day we went was unusually hot, and I worried they'd melt if we carried them around all afternoon, sob, so sadly we passed on them this time~ But if you're going to eat them soon after buying, these two are an absolute must♥
The garlic bread has a rich, sweet garlic sauce and a moist, chewy texture! The coffee bread has a strong coffee aroma and a soft texture. Pick whichever suits your taste.

Onion bagel, rice loaf and cheese bread are good too
There's more to recommend at Munhwa Bakery!! The onion bagel, where soft onion cream meets chewy bread, and the super chewy rice chestnut loaf and rice cheese loaf!! Every time I go there are so many things I want to eat that I can't decide, that's how this Jongno 3-ga bakery is.

Love bread with cheese? Be sure to try the cheese bread too~ It has a rich, deep cheese aroma, and the chewy texture is delicious as well.
Why I recommend Munhwa Bakery
The bread is kept hygienically behind a protective cover, and when you choose and tell the staff, they pack it right up! (Lots of the bread is pre-packed, so it's very fast.^^)
The bread I took home from Munhwa Bakery and the prices

This day I took home three items from Munhwa Bakery: the rice chestnut loaf, the rice cheese loaf and the walnut bun, ₩15,200 in total.
- Rice chestnut loaf ₩5,800
- Rice cheese loaf ₩5,900
- Walnut bun ₩3,500
- Total order ₩15,200
They packed everything neatly in a pretty paper bag! When I carried it around, lots of people kept looking at it, haha.

Rice cheese loaf ₩5,900, big enough for 2–3 people
The rice cheese loaf at Munhwa Bakery is ₩5,900, and each loaf is pretty big, enough for 2–3 people to share. It has the chewy texture rice bread is known for, plus plenty of cheese for great flavor.
It's a perfect snack for kids too, so I recommend taking at least one home.

Rice chestnut loaf ₩5,800, even better warmed in an air fryer
The rice chestnut loaf at Munhwa Bakery is ₩5,800, and it's one of my favorites! It's packed with sweet chestnuts, and the chewy texture is just so good.
The rice loaf is tasty as is, but warm it a little in the air fryer and it's crispy outside and even chewier inside, so much better. It works well as a meal bread too, so I'd recommend it as a breakfast substitute.

Walnut bun ₩3,500, like an upgraded soboro bun
The walnut bun at Munhwa Bakery is ₩3,500, and the sweet, crunchy walnut topping made the texture even more appealing! The bread itself feels a bit like a soboro bun (a crumb-topped sweet bun), and with a generous layer of walnut on top, it's like an upgraded soboro bun, haha.
The crunchy walnuts were especially good! It's fine as a quick snack or meal bread. Maybe because the topping is sweet, my child loved this one too. I'd recommend it as a kids' snack!

Every bread I picked was delicious, so I'd recommend Munhwa Bakery, this Jongno 3-ga bakery, as a must-stop on an Ikseon-dong bakery tour!! If you go out in Jongno, definitely drop by.^^
