First view on arriving at Cenacolo Artfore

Today I'm introducing a Songdo pasta spot and Songdo date restaurant where I had a really satisfying meal: Cenacolo (CENACOLO) Artfore. If you're looking for a restaurant with a nice atmosphere near Songdo Central Park, I can recommend it with full confidence. The food, the atmosphere, the service, even how the dishes looked — nothing was lacking, and I was happy the whole meal.

What does Cenacolo Artfore look like from outside?

Cenacolo Artfore has a European-style exterior: a red brick building, a terracotta roof, pastel outdoor tables and big parasols. Walking through Songdo Artfore, it's the first place that catches your eye.

The red brick and terracotta roof feel like a restaurant lifted straight out of a little Italian alley. Among the tall apartment blocks it stands out even more, and passersby stop for a second to look.

Pretty plants are carefully arranged by the entrance, and with the pastel tables and big parasols, you get a moody photo just by pointing your camera. I hear many guests eat on the terrace on sunny days, and it felt just like a European sidewalk café. It was really pretty. Just from the outside I thought, "Today's meal is going to be a success."

Is Cenacolo Artfore a Red Ribbon restaurant?

At the entrance of Cenacolo Artfore there were Red Ribbon Survey (a Korean restaurant guide) certificates for 2024, 2025 and 2026. The three years in a row stood out most.

Knowing it's a restaurant that's consistently recognized raised my expectations, and after eating there I immediately understood why so many people recommend it.

Cenacolo Artfore interior and seating

Inside Cenacolo Artfore, the lighting is soft, the decor is wood-toned, and the tables are spaced widely, so it's good for quiet conversation. The first thing I felt when I opened the door was warmth.

The understated interior let me focus on the meal. The tables were spaced well, so there was plenty of distance from the next table, and it was great for talking quietly. Couples on dates, families and groups of friends — all kinds of people were visiting, and I liked how calm and relaxed the whole place felt.

Above all, the neat table settings impressed me. The white plates, cutlery and even the water bottle were prepared with care, and it felt like being at a fine-dining restaurant.

Why the open kitchen at Cenacolo Artfore builds trust

Another plus of Cenacolo is the open kitchen, where everything is visible. I could watch the chefs cook.

You can see them prepping fresh ingredients, tossing pasta in the pan, and plating, so trust in the food comes naturally. The clean kitchen impressed me too, and the staff moved in a very organized way.

Is the extra starter bread at Cenacolo worth ordering?

Cenacolo's starter bread comes with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, olives and pickles, and it was so good that I paid ₩2,000 extra for more. I was moved before the meal even started.

The outside was golden and crisp, the inside fluffy and moist. Dipped in olive oil and balsamic, it filled my mouth with a nutty wheat aroma, and I kept reaching for more. The olives and tangy pickles were enough to wake up my appetite too. The pink pickles in particular were so pretty that I couldn't help taking photos.

How does the shrimp mushroom salad taste?

Cenacolo's shrimp mushroom salad tops greens with grilled shrimp, potato, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and cheese, and I was wowed from the look of it. One plate was like a work of art.

On fresh green leaves sat appetizingly grilled shrimp, golden roasted potato, mushrooms with a faint smoky char, sweet cherry tomatoes, and cheese sprinkled on top like snow.

The shrimp were springy when I bit in, and the more I chewed the sweeter the flavor got. The mushrooms were juicy and nutty with every bite, and the potato was crisp outside and fluffy inside, really good. The greens were very fresh and crunchy, and the dressing wasn't strong, so it brought out the natural taste of the ingredients.

Does Cenacolo's vongole pasta come with plenty of clams?

Cenacolo's vongole pasta (clam pasta) was piled with clams, generously, and personally it was the dish I was happiest with. It was overwhelming just to look at.

With the first bite I felt the deep savory depth of the sea. The oil sauce wasn't greasy at all; a faint garlic aroma rose up and the cool clam broth had soaked into the whole noodle. The pasta was cooked al dente with a nice bite, and the more I chewed, the more I tasted the nutty wheat. It was light yet deep in flavor, so I never got tired of it until the end.

Is the shrimp mascarpone cream pasta too rich?

Cenacolo's shrimp mascarpone cream pasta was the most popular dish that day, and the sauce was rich but not heavy at all. The cream sauce was really smooth.

Thanks to the mascarpone cheese, the flavor was much deeper and nuttier than an ordinary cream pasta. It melted in my mouth. There were also plenty of plump shrimp, and with every bite the cream and shrimp came together perfectly. The noodles had soaked up the sauce well, so they stayed moist and soft to the end. Dipping bread in the sauce was truly the best combination.

Is Cenacolo Artfore good for a meal with parents and kids?

Cenacolo's food isn't heavily seasoned, so my stomach felt fine afterward, and it tasted easy enough to bring parents or children. I felt this isn't a place that is just flashy; it's a restaurant that really keeps to the basics.

Every ingredient was fresh, and the sauces felt strongly homemade.

Friendly service at Cenacolo Artfore

The staff at Cenacolo Artfore explained the menu in detail, and the food came out at a good pace. They were really kind. I was impressed that they kept checking whether we needed anything, and thanks to that I enjoyed the meal from start to finish.
