Yeonnam-dong brunch café with jambon-beurre salt bread: Noknok
In short
Noknok is a large two-floor bakery café on Seongmisan-ro in Yeonnam-dong, Mapo, Seoul. Returning after 3 years, the writer worked on a laptop by a 2nd-floor window and had brunch at Noknok: an iced americano, an arugula jambon-beurre (ham and butter) salt bread and a chocolate salt bread. With parking, plenty of space and a ₩1,900 takeout americano, Noknok is a good-value work café in Yeonnam-dong.

I had errands in Yeonnam-dong, so I finally visited Noknok again! Why did it take so long.. it's been almost 3 years. I had a bit of time to spare and was looking for a café where I could have a sandwich and coffee for brunch and work on my laptop, and that's how I ended up at Noknok.
Oh, and their takeout coffee is ₩1,900! And when I drank it, the coffee was really rich and nutty, and you can choose your beans, so the quality is great 😶 They have parking too, and the café is big, so there were lots of customers. Okay, I'll write the detailed review below!
Noknok opening hours and parking
Noknok, the Yeonnam-dong café, is open every day from 08:30 to 23:30 and pets are welcome. Only one car can park at the end of the row in front of the shop, and there is a separate parking space next to the shop's garland sign.

As I said, in front of Noknok only one car fits at the end of the row, and there's a separate parking space inside the garland sign that says 'Noknok' 🚗 As you can see in the photo on the right, the space goes pretty deep, so you park starting from the far end.

Noknok takeout americano for ₩1,900
Takeout americano at Noknok is a whopping ₩1,900! Maybe that's why office workers from nearby came rushing in at lunchtime and grabbed their coffee to go.

How do the 1st and 2nd floors of Noknok differ?
Noknok has two floors: the 1st floor has comfy sofa seats that are great for chatting, and the 2nd floor is quiet and good for laptop work. The shop is spacious and there are comfy sofas in the middle, so it's also great for just sprawling out 🙌🏻
1st floor: a sofa-and-chat atmosphere
The 1st floor of Noknok is a slightly sprawl-out, chatty kind of vibe 〰️

2nd floor: lots of people studying and working on laptops
The 2nd floor of Noknok was a bit quieter than the 1st, with more people studying or quietly working on laptops. The 1st floor has comfy sofas and seats, so more people were there for tea time! I had work to do too, so I settled on the 2nd floor.

Noknok drink prices and bean choice
The regular americano at Noknok is ₩3,800, and there's also a 1L large americano. The drink and bakery lineups were really varied, and the drink prices are all super cheap. I think it's honestly one of the best-value cafés in Yeonnam-dong... totally satisfied ✨
I went with a cold iced americano, and you can pick the bean type separately. I chose the nutty type without acidity ☕

What breads are on the Noknok bakery shelves?
The bakery shelves at Noknok have a huge range, from baguettes to salt bread, croissants and, as the signature, various loaves of sliced bread, and everything looked delicious! I'm a total bread lover, so I think I agonized in front of that tray a hundred times 😭 In the end I only picked two: the arugula jambon-beurre salt bread and the chocolate salt bread 🥐

These loaves look so good, right? In the photos you can see that when you cut them open, they're packed with whole ingredients inside! That's really why I agonized so much between the loaves and the salt bread..🫣

What I ordered for brunch at Noknok
- Chocolate salt bread
- Arugula jambon-beurre salt bread
- Iced americano
Noknok calls you up quickly as soon as your order is ready. I sat by the window, and the light was so good that the photos came out nicely too.

Iced americano: rich and nutty with no burnt taste
Noknok's iced americano 🤎 The beans are good, so there's no burnt or bitter taste, just rich and nutty, and delicious.

Arugula jambon-beurre salt bread: just right for a light lunch
And this is Noknok's arugula jambon-beurre salt bread, a combo that can't possibly be bad. I'd skipped breakfast and was a little hungry, so a simple sandwich was perfect for lunch. I think the salt bread dough itself is delicious. The texture turned out so good: slightly crisp outside, full of butter aroma inside, with nutty butter, salty jambon (cured ham) and arugula, all in a really well-balanced, delicious bite 🌿

Chocolate salt bread: a finishing dessert
This is Noknok's chocolate salt bread, which I picked as a finishing dessert. It has chocolate chips on the outside and inside, and since the salt bread dough itself is plain and mild, the combination when the sweet chocolate comes through is really nice. After the sandwich, it was just right as a light dessert with coffee 🫶🏻
How was Noknok as a laptop café in Yeonnam-dong?
Noknok was a café in Yeonnam-dong with easy parking and a roomy space that made working on a laptop comfortable, and with its good-value drinks and salt bread sandwich, I had a very satisfying time 🫧
- A good place for laptop work
- ₩1,900 takeout coffee
- Tasty coffee at a great price
If you're looking for a bakery café near Yeonnam-dong where you can stay a while, I recommend Noknok 🙌🏻
