Pip Espresso Bar is a café converted from a house on Seongmisan-ro 29-gil in Yeonnam-dong. It's open 09:00–23:00 (closed on Chuseok) and welcomes pets. I went looking for a Yeonnam-dong café where I could enjoy good coffee and dessert together.

Since Pip Espresso Bar is made from a converted house, the building itself gives off a distinct vibe.

Why Pip Espresso Bar earned a Blue Ribbon

When picking a café, the atmosphere matters, but in the end what matters most is how the coffee and desserts taste — so since this place has a Blue Ribbon rating, I walked in with a little hope that it'd be tastier than average haha 🔥🔥

Walking through the door, tons of beautifully designed lighting fixtures catch your eye — turns out the café actually sells them at a reasonable price!! They were so pretty I assumed they were just interior decor haha

True to a Blue Ribbon coffee spot, there's quite a variety of coffee options.

I really have to give credit for how reasonable the coffee prices are given the atmosphere and quality 👏👏

There are also a lot of cream coffee options, so if you love cream coffee, you'll have a hard time deciding haha

After hanging out in Yeonnam, a cool cocktail on the terrace 🍸 that's happiness right there!!! There's also a non-coffee menu that's good for kids, so it's fine to come with children too 👌 Kids, go for the granita 😁

Each section has different table types and different chair materials placed throughout, so each area feels distinct.

Since it was coffee for a rather late afternoon, I paid the extra charge to switch to decaf for the sake of good sleep 💓

Tiramisu made decaf, not just the coffee

These days lots of cafés sell decaf coffee, so ordering decaf beans isn't anything special anymore, but—

a special service I've only experienced here at Pip Espresso Bar

—is that the tiramisu itself can be switched to decaf.

Since tiramisu is a dessert that contains coffee, I never expected it could be made decaf, so being able to switch it felt pretty amazing 😍😍 This might be the best choice for anyone who wants to cut back on caffeine but isn't willing to give up tiramisu!
