SFC Tower basement café for Earl Grey lemon tart: Center Coffee

Hi, I'm Rian! Whenever I have somewhere to be near Gwanghwamun, I always end up stopping by this Gwanghwamun café, Center Coffee. This is already my third visit and it's still just as satisfying haha. Every time I go, the relaxed vibe and the great coffee keep pulling me back 😚

Where Center Coffee Gwanghwamun is and when it opens

Center Coffee Gwanghwamun is on the basement floor of SFC Tower, 136 Sejong-daero, Jung-gu, Seoul. It's open weekdays from 7:30 to 21:00 and weekends from 11:00 to 21:00, with takeout and parking available.

Center Coffee is inside SFC Tower, and the building itself is really pleasant — plus it's a spacious café, so it's easy to settle in and stay a while!

Seating at Center Coffee Gwanghwamun for working solo

The interior at Center Coffee Gwanghwamun is really pleasant and spacious. The tables are spaced generously apart too, so it's easy to enjoy your own time without being bothered by the people next to you.

Along the aisle there's a long row of seats against the wall, and this spot had a really nice atmosphere for coming alone or doing a bit of work. It also seemed like a good place for a blind date or a chat.

Menu and kiosk ordering at Center Coffee Gwanghwamun

Center Coffee has such a wide menu that it's fun just picking something haha. From espresso to lattes, non-coffee drinks, and teas, there's something for every taste.

The brewing coffee selection in particular has a wide variety of beans, so coffee lovers will be even more satisfied.

I usually order at the kiosk, and the menu is well organized with photos, so it's easy to choose. This time too, I browsed the latte menu on the kiosk and ordered a mugwort latte (2nd visit) and an iced latte (3rd visit)!

The dessert showcase and why the Earl Grey lemon tart won

The dessert lineup is varied too, and everything looks so good that I always end up agonizing over what to get. This time, just like my last visit, I chose the Earl Grey lemon tart haha.

Every dessert lined up in the showcase looks delicious, so there's fun in enjoying them with your eyes first too. From cakes to financiers, there's plenty of variety to suit your taste 😃

Is the less-sweet mugwort latte actually less sweet?

First up, the mugwort latte at this Gwanghwamun café is a sweet mugwort latte topped with cream, perfect for a sugar boost! Even though I chose the less-sweet option, it was still quite sweet for my taste ><

How the Earl Grey lemon tart tasted

The Earl Grey lemon tart I picked was really good haha. The soft cream and tangy lemon went together beautifully 😚

The Earl Grey part had a subtle fragrance, and the lemon-and-chocolate combo at the bottom was sweet yet tangy — a perfect dessert for lifting your mood. Eating it with coffee made for a really healing time 😃

The iced latte also had a nicely deep coffee flavor that paired perfectly with the dessert. The two flavors complemented each other really well.

Verdict after a third visit to Center Coffee Gwanghwamun

If you're looking for a café to study or work in near Gwanghwamun or Cheonggyecheon, I really recommend Center Coffee. It's a place where you can enjoy great coffee and desserts in a relaxed atmosphere. This is already my third visit, and it's satisfying every single time, so I think I'll keep coming back 😚

It's great for chatting with friends, and just as great for spending time alone at your own pace — whatever the purpose of your visit, you won't regret it haha. If you want to spend a delicious time in a relaxed atmosphere, definitely visit Center Coffee 😚
