Angry Potato Hyundai Department Store Jungdong Branch is a french fry and potato snack shop in the basement food hall of Hyundai Department Store in Bucheon. I'd seen it all over Instagram as a Bucheon Hyundai must-eat, so I was curious. I'd just had my hair done near Bucheon City Hall and was so hungry,,🥱 It was the first place I saw as soon as I came down to the basement, so I finally tried it today🩶

Angry Potato Jungdong: location and opening hours

Angry Potato is on B1 of Hyundai Department Store at 180 Gilju-ro, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon, Gyeonggi, South Korea, 1 minute from Exit 3 of Bucheon City Hall Station on Line 7. It's open Monday to Thursday 10:30–20:00 and Friday to Sunday 10:30–20:30, and for parking you can use the department store's underground lot.

Head down from the department store side and you'll see Angry Potato right away. Piles of fresh potatoes are stacked up, haha

The Angry Potato Chips are ₩5,500, and they look crispy and delicious just at a glance, right? These are perfect with beer,,!🫠

When you go down to the basement of Hyundai in Jungdong, you'll spot Angry Potato's signature character, haha

The Angry Potato menu is seriously varied,🤔 with Angry Potato Chips at ₩5,500, Fresh Chewy Potato at M ₩5,500 / L ₩6,500, Hot Crunch Chicken at 5 pieces ₩12,000 / 10 pieces ₩24,000, Chili's Cheese Sticks at Nashville Hot ₩4,500 / Original ₩4,000, plus mini burgers, mini burger skewers and more.

What I ordered was the Fresh Chewy Potato, a Chili's Cheese Stick Nashville Hot and a Chili's Cheese Stick Original. Also, I always order the "secret menu" combos at Subway too, lol, so I picked two of Angry Potato's recommended combos as well.

• Chipotle Pulled Pork ₩8,900: pulled pork + jalapeño + nacho cheese + chipotle sauce
• Hot Crunch Chicken ₩9,900: chicken + onion + pickles + sriracha mayo sauce

And Angry Potato also has milkshakes and mini burgers, and the potato snacks come in all kinds of textures and flavors❗️❗️ It seems like a great stop for beer takeout, a filling snack, or a bite after department store shopping 😁

What sauces are at the Angry Potato sauce bar?

Angry Potato has a self-serve bar with 9 sauces, so you can enjoy your chips and fries with whatever sauce combo you like🩵🩶 There's chipotle, sweet chili, diablo hot sauce, honey mustard, sriracha mayo, Chicago grilled, white cream, wasabi mayo… all great-sounding sauces. Next time I'll try the wasabi mayo, haha💕

The basement of Hyundai Department Store in Jungdong is nicely done up, and there are lots of tables for eating. I enjoyed my fresh-fried food at the tables around Angry Potato, haha yay🤎 The portions are huge. The toppings are piled on generously❗️❗️

How do the chipotle pulled pork and Hot Crunch chicken fries taste?

Chipotle Pulled Pork ₩8,900

First up, the chipotle pulled pork, which was such a good pick from Angry Potato's recommended combos 🩶❗️ Freshly fried crispy fries made from fresh potatoes get topped with tender smoked pulled pork, jalapeños, nacho cheese and chipotle sauce,,👏 No way it could be bad❗️❗️ The chipotle pulled pork made me crave a beer

Hot Crunch Chicken Fries ₩9,900

The Hot Crunch chicken fries are also a great match with beer. You can't eat at Angry Potato without thinking of beer❗️ It's topped with crispy fried chicken, onion, pickles and sriracha mayo sauce, and the sriracha mayo went so well with the chicken❗️❗️ I think stopping by while shopping at Hyundai in Jungdong and having just this would be filling enough😊

What makes Angry Potato's chewy potato different?

Angry Potato's Fresh Chewy Potato was different from the chewy potatoes I've had at other restaurants. It's so much more chewwwy! Maybe the potato quality or the potato ratio is different, but it was way tastier🤭

The chewiness was like rice cake and cheese at the same time❗️❗️ I want to eat the chewy potato again,, If you go to Angry Potato, I really recommend the chewy potato, which is hard to find elsewhere🩵🩶

Chili's cheese sticks: Original vs Nashville Hot, which is better?

The Chili's Cheese Stick is 100% natural whole mozzarella, fried, and I ordered one Original and one Nashville Hot. Honestly, I came to Angry Potato because I saw the Chili's cheese sticks on Instagram, lol🤭 They looked so good,,

They're stuffed with whole mozzarella that stretches and stretches🫶💓 The cheese had much more flavor than other cheese sticks. 100% natural cheese really is different, haha

Next time I'm getting two Chili's Cheese Stick Nashville Hots, lol. That sauce is really spicy and delicious,,,💕 It feels like tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) sauce, but a different kind of spicy. It goes so well with the cheese. Recommended, recommended, truly recommended🥰🥰

The Nashville Hot sauce was so good that I dipped the Original Chili's cheese stick in it, lol

Angry Potato takeout: beer snacks at home

The cheese sticks vanished in no time, and since the rest made me think of beer, I packed it up to go❗️❗️ Angry Potato's takeout packaging is so cute, lol

It's hard to get to the ballpark these days, so I watched baseball at home on TVING with beer❗️❗️ I recommend Angry Potato, a Hyundai Department Store Jungdong must-eat in Bucheon ❤
