What is Keunsawi Ori Jip?
Keunsawi Ori Jip (큰사위오리집) Bucheon Okgil Main Branch is a duck full-course restaurant in Okgil-dong, Bucheon. They accept Bucheon Pay, and with plenty of parking and a big dining room it works well for group gatherings and family meals. The duck full course is very generous, and the gondre rice is free refill 💕
I went with my family on a weekend for the duck full course, haha. Keunsawi's trademark is a table so loaded it could break under the food, and they clearly care about ingredients. They only use clean-raised ducks from Naju that are grown for 40 days, and they say the sesame oil is pressed 100% at a mill. They also use only Sindongjin rice, which I love! So it's a place where you can bring your family and eat with peace of mind ☺️

Is Keunsawi Ori Jip's dining room good for a family gathering?
Keunsawi has a variety of seating, including tables for 4 and for 8, and the place is spacious, so a group or family gathering in Okgil-dong is totally doable 🫶 The dark brown interior with bright white walls looks clean, and the big windows make it feel open and airy.
I arrived before the 11:00 opening, so it was relaxed, but it's a popular Bucheon spot that fills up fast. By the time I left, it was packed, haha. Lots of families in particular.
Okgil-dong has a laid-back feel, and stepping out here felt like a little trip to a quiet place, haha. There are cafés nearby, including the huge bakery café I visited before❗️ A tasty duck course followed by a café makes a great outing 💕

The three of us ordered the Keunsawi Special Course 🫶 Spicy duck dori-tang (duck and vegetable stew), tender steamed duck, nutty perilla baeksuk (poached duck in perilla broth)... I can't give up any of them,, 🤭
Weekday-only value menu

- Steamed duck + acorn jelly pancake set ₩12,900

The weekday-only menu is a great deal too. A one-person course for ₩14,900❓❗️
What's on the Keunsawi Ori Jip self-serve bar?
The self-serve bar is a big plus at Keunsawi. There's gondre and shiitake rice, seasoning sauce, "mother-in-law's" geotjeori (fresh kimchi), kids' duck seaweed soup, sauce for the steamed duck, and more.
My mom had two bowls of the gondre and shiitake rice since it's free refill, lol. Her real satisfaction❗️🤭 I loved the geotjeori. For families with a baby, there are baby chairs, duck seaweed soup, baby tableware, a microwave and so on, so it's easy to come 🥰

Gondre rice with the homemade seasoning sauce and a drizzle of sesame oil is pure honey,, even this alone is delicious, haha 🤎 Sindongjin rice with gondre and shiitake mushrooms, a healthy and tasty rice❗️
Keunsawi Special Course for 3: how was each dish?

Duck meat that's properly aged. I'll go ahead and try it 🫠

A restaurant that even gives you omega supplements, lol. They told us to take them after the meal.
Perilla baeksuk: mom's favorite dish

The first dish in the Special Course is perilla baeksuk, and the perilla is so nutty, rich and smooth, just,, a flavor I keep thinking about 🤎 The baeksuk is good, but the perilla sauce is honey.

The perilla baeksuk was especially a hit with my mom! Keunsawi is a great place to bring older family members 🫶
Cypress-steamed duck with chili and peanut dipping sauces

Next is the healthy cypress-steamed duck. It's packed with tender duck and bean sprouts. It's health food, but it's tasty,, 🤎🫶

Dunk the duck and bean sprouts deep into the chili sauce. Also enjoy the plain flavor of the steamed duck (I scraped up the perilla baeksuk sauce behind it too, haha)

Dipping it in peanut sauce is nutty and delicious too❗️

There were also ssam vegetables (leaf wraps), so we enjoyed it in different ways. My favorite combo is dipping in chili sauce! The sauce is at the unlimited self-serve bar, so it was easy to grab.
Duck dori-tang: the highlight of the course
Next up, the duck dori-tang I'd been curious about❗️ They also added the fresh chives, white wood ear mushrooms and other mushrooms that came with it.

It looks like it can't possibly taste bad, and it's the biggest highlight. Spicy seasoning, bubbling duck, all kinds of vegetables, and rice cake add-ons 🤭

Even if you're full, you have to finish the duck dori-tang. Chewy rice cakes, duck with chives, duck with mushrooms, yum 🫶 It went so well with the spicy seasoning❗️
Finishing fried rice, pressed and scraped like nurungji (scorched rice)
It's not over yet. Skipping the fried rice in the dori-tang sauce would be such a shame 🫠

I pressed the fried rice down a bit like nurungji (crispy scorched rice) and scraped it up happily. I was so full I almost collapsed, but it was so good that I finished it 👏👏 The portions were so generous that it felt like great value. And don't forget your Bucheon Pay❗️

Is Keunsawi Ori Jip worth it for a family gathering in Bucheon?
Keunsawi is a reassuring place where the duck, chicken, rice, cabbage and more are all domestic (Korean-grown). With no parking worries, if you want a generous and tasty duck full course this weekend, I recommend Keunsawi Ori Jip 🫶💕
