The box everyone in Danyang's Gugyeong Market was carrying turned out to be a Danppang Bakery (단빵제빵소) garlic bread box. Gugyeong Market is said to be a stop for almost everyone who visits Danyang! 😊 While I was wandering the market, I noticed people all carrying the exact same box 👀 I wondered what on earth they were buying so much of, so I looked closely at the box, and it was Danppang Bakery 🥖🧄

I'd been curious anyway, and the shop happened to be right there, so I stopped in! Even though I went right when it opened, there was already a line, that's how popular it is 😲 Everyone was buying a box, so I joined the line, half excited and half nervous 💕

Hours are daily 10:30–21:00, with last order at 19:30.

Danppang Bakery is inside Gugyeong Market, and even though I arrived right at opening, a long line had already formed. Still, turnover was fast, so I didn't wait as long as I expected ✨ As you'd expect from a Gugyeong Market favorite, there were lots of tourists, and locals kept coming in too 👍

Buying the 4-piece set was cheaper than buying the garlic breads one by one! Of course I wanted to try all four flavors, so I got the 4-flavor set (₩14,000). It looks like a great gift or Danyang souvenir too 🎁

Inside Danppang Bakery, the staff were constantly making cream and baking garlic bread 👀 They fill the bread with plenty of cream and keep sending it through the oven! Just walking near the shop, the toasty smell of butter and garlic drifts out, and it was honestly hard to resist 🤤

What surprised me most was the amount of cream cheese! They really put in a generous heap of it 😍

When you order, they box up the garlic bread they've already made and pack it right away 😊 The packaging is neat, so it was easy to carry around on the go 👍

The baguette garlic bread is Danppang Bakery's basic menu item! It had crunchy garlic chips on top 😋 Crispy outside and moist inside, and I loved that! The richness of the butter and the flavor of the garlic go together really well, so even the basic one was delicious 💕

The black garlic cream cheese garlic bread uses black garlic, another Danyang specialty! Look at how much cream cheese is packed in, see it? 😍 The subtle sweetness of black garlic meets the smooth, rich cream cheese, and it was really appealing 💕 It's a special flavor you can't get from regular garlic bread, so it felt like something you have to try in Danyang 👍
