Danyang market bakery, garlic bread frozen in zip bags: Danppang
In short
Danppang Bakery (단빵제빵소) is a bakery specializing in Danyang garlic bread inside Gugyeong Market in Danyang, Chungbuk. On a weekday, as the last stop of a Danyang trip, a repeat visitor bought 2 boxes of the 4-flavor set, froze each piece in its own zip bag, and reheated them in an air fryer at 160–170°C for 5–7 minutes; the cream cheese garlic bread was the clear favorite. Danppang Bakery garlic bread is a great Danyang souvenir to stock in the freezer.

Why Danppang Bakery was my last stop on the Danyang trip
For the best bite of Danyang's Gugyeong Market, I ended my trip with a hearty round of Danyang garlic bread from Danppang Bakery (단빵제빵소).

Coming back from a Danyang trip, I always feel reluctant to just head straight home. So this time too, I wandered around the good eats of Gugyeong Market, and the last stop was Danppang Bakery.

I've eaten at Danppang Bakery many times already, so this time, instead of eating on the trip, I bought 2 boxes of the 4-flavor set to take home. I usually keep them in the freezer and warm them up in the air fryer or oven whenever I'm craving some, and they taste like fresh-baked. That's why it has become a must-stop every time I visit Danyang.
Is there a line at Danppang Bakery on weekdays?
Yes, even on a weekday, plenty of customers were waiting in line at Danppang Bakery. Once I walked into Gugyeong Market, the yellow sign stood out from far away.

As you'd expect from a place that has been on TV several times, lots of people were queuing even on a weekday.

The staff kept putting out freshly baked bread, and ovens in the back were turning out loaves nonstop, so turnover was really fast.

Even in the rush, the staff stayed warm and kind to every customer, which really impressed me.
Samples were refilled the moment they ran out, and there were so many that sampling alone could fill you up. Even while waiting, I could feel why this is such a famous spot in Gugyeong Market.
What comes in the Danppang Bakery 4-flavor set?
The signature item at Danppang Bakery is, of course, Danyang garlic bread. The 4-flavor set I chose was made up as follows.

- Crispy-outside, moist-inside garlic baguette
- Cream cheese garlic bread
- Black garlic cream cheese garlic bread
- Sweet potato custard garlic bread
You get to try several flavors at once, so it's good as a gift, and it was a satisfying set to share with family too.
How to freeze and reheat Danyang garlic bread
Put each piece of Danyang garlic bread in its own zip bag and freeze it, then warm it in an air fryer at 160–170°C for about 5–7 minutes. I prefer bringing it home to eating it right away on the trip.
Keep each piece frozen in its own zip bag, then take one out when you want it and reheat it in the air fryer at 160–170°C for 5–7 minutes, or toast it lightly in the oven. The crispy outside and moist inside come right back.
The ones with cream cheese especially were so much better warmed up, because the cheese melts softly.
Which Danppang Bakery garlic bread was the best?
For my taste, the cream cheese garlic bread was the most satisfying, as always.

The garlic aroma and the richness of the cream cheese blend well, and it isn't greasy, so I could enjoy it to the very end.

The black garlic one had a subtle sweetness that gave it a different charm, and the sweet potato custard garlic bread was dessert-sweet and great with coffee.

Each flavor has its own personality, so you don't get tired of them. That's a plus too.
Verdict: Danppang Bakery garlic bread as a Danyang souvenir
This visit to Danppang Bakery in Gugyeong Market was satisfying again.

Buying plenty to wrap up the trip, so I could enjoy the taste of the trip at home too, was a really good call.
Every time I take one out of the freezer, the Danyang trip comes back to me naturally.

If you visit Danyang, don't just eat a meal and leave. Pick up some Danyang garlic bread too. It makes a delicious souvenir that lets you enjoy the afterglow of the trip at home for a long time.

The last stop of a Danyang trip is Danppang Bakery, always. Stock up in the freezer and you can taste the trip again any time.
