Does Baedagol Bakery House have many kinds of bread?
The moment we walked in, the smell of freshly baked bread filled the air. If you love bread, it's hard to just walk past.

One side of the shop had all kinds of baked goods on display, and there were so many that choosing was a real struggle!

How were the salt bread and olive ciabatta?
After much agonizing, we picked salt bread, walnut chalppang (chewy walnut bread), olive ciabatta and squid ink crumble, and ordered hot homemade honey pear ginger tea to drink.

First, the salt bread at Baedagol Bakery House: crisp outside, moist inside, with a salty flavor and buttery richness that blend nicely. It's true to the basics. Lots of people hunt for the best salt bread these days, and this one is plenty satisfying.
The olive ciabatta had big chunks of olive, and the flavor opened up the more I chewed. The plain, chewy ciabatta texture goes well with the saltiness of the olives, and I thought it would make a good brunch item too.

The best bread: walnut chalppang
Personally, the one I enjoyed most at Baedagol Bakery House was the walnut chalppang. It's nutty outside and chewy inside, and it's packed with walnuts, so it's fun to chew. The mild sweetness makes me think older folks would love it too. Oh wait, I'm getting to be one of those older folks myself.. haha
What is the squid ink crumble?
The squid ink crumble is a bread made with squid ink, topped generously with crumble and powdered sugar, and it catches your eye from the very look of it. The sweet, nutty taste is appealing.

Does the homemade honey pear ginger tea go with bread?
I still had coffee left in my tumbler, so I skipped coffee and had hot tea instead. The homemade honey pear ginger tea at Baedagol Bakery House had a ginger kick that wasn't overpowering, and the sweetness of pear and honey made it smooth to drink.

Having it with the bread especially left my mouth feeling clean and refreshed. I think it would be even better in the changing seasons or on a cold day.

What are the interior and seating like?
Inside Baedagol Bakery House it's spacious and the seats are nicely spaced, so it was comfortable to spend time there. Natural light from the big windows made it bright and warm, and it looked fine for chatting or working on a laptop.
I could see why it's known as a café that draws lots of people even on weekdays. Lately I look for bakery cafés where I can relax over good bread, rather than places just for coffee.

In that sense, Baedagol Bakery House satisfies on every count: the variety and taste of the bread, the large space and the comfortable mood. If you're looking for somewhere near Goyang for a drive or a family outing, I recommend stopping by once.
It was a Wondang café where good bread and a warm cup of tea gave us a relaxing time.

If we need to go to a bakery café again, we'll probably end up at Baedagol Bakery House again.
