With so many outings lately, I wanted something easy to eat on the days I was home. I grilled one bag of Ieum marinated daechang (beef large intestine) that I had saved to eat in our newlywed home as a late-night snack. I received this product free of charge to try.

How did the daechang grilled at home taste?
It was so tender it felt as if it melted in my mouth, and the marinade had a savory depth. Since it was a late-night snack, I grilled only one bag, but I added it to my saved shopping list because I want to grill it again at home on the weekend.
At the time, I also liked that it could be delivered for less than half the price of eating it at a restaurant. Still, I did not write down the specific purchase price or the restaurant price I compared it with.
What did I serve with the rich daechang?
I served it with pre-cut scallion strips. The scallions cut through the richness of the daechang nicely, so they were good to eat together. I wanted to grill mushrooms too, but it felt like too much trouble, so I skipped them and added only scallion strips and sauce.

I usually do not eat meat with ssamjang (Korean soybean dipping paste) or other sauces. This time, though, I tried the included 1seok 2jo sauce, and it suited my taste so well that I kept dipping the daechang in it.

How did I thaw and grill the frozen daechang?
Delivery was quick, and I stored the product in the freezer after it arrived. I moved it to the refrigerator to thaw the day before eating it. The instructions said to thaw it completely, then grill it over medium-low to low heat.
I could grill and eat it as is, without needing to cut it with scissors. Thawing it ahead of time made it convenient to prepare at home, since all I had to do when it was time to eat was grill it.

How were the marinade and sauce ingredients described?
The product was described as prepared by hand, with both the meat marinade and 1seok 2jo sauce made using Korean ingredients. Even for an occasional late-night snack, I tend to look at the ingredients, so this part caught my eye.

I ate it as a late-night snack at home this time, but I thought it would be nice to grill on a weekend even if it was not late. The combination of scallion strips and the included sauce suited my taste well.
