Pasta Trio is where I ended up when my boyfriend and I were looking for a weekday-evening date spot near Nonhyeon Station! There are so many restaurants around Nonhyeon, but when you actually try to pick one, a lot of them feel kind of so-so, right...? Like, so much choice and yet nothing to eat, haha.
But Pasta Trio had a great atmosphere and the food was tastier than I expected, so I left happy! Here's my review of the signature shrimp oil pasta, the Spanish honey cod steak and the spinach arancini ✨

Pasta Trio atmosphere: good for a date or blind date?
The inside of Pasta Trio is cute and cozy, so it suits a date or a blind date. It's not hugely spacious or flashy; it's more of a snug place where you can sit and talk!
The lighting is soft and the tables aren't crammed together, so it felt just right for dates and blind dates. (There were actually a lot of blind-date tables, haha.) It's not uncomfortably quiet, but not too loud either, so it works for a first meeting or a date where you want to chat comfortably.

I went on a weekday evening. There was no wait, but the restaurant was pretty full!

The pasta selection is really varied, and with steak, gnocchi, pilaf and salad too, it's easy to pick something to your taste! We ordered Pasta Trio's signature shrimp oil pasta, the Spanish honey cod steak and the spinach arancini.

What's the signature shrimp oil pasta (₩18,000) like?
Pasta Trio's signature shrimp oil pasta combines arugula, shrimp and garlic in an oil pasta that isn't greasy. There's a real reason it's the signature.
The arugula, shrimp and garlic combo is so good, and even though it's an oil pasta, it isn't heavy and you keep going back for more 🤤 There are lots of big, plump shrimp too. If you like oil pastas, definitely order this one!!
Personally, it's the first dish I'd recommend from what we ate that day. Seriously so good...🤍

Is the Spanish honey cod steak (₩28,000) fishy?
Pasta Trio's Spanish honey cod steak is tender cod served with a herb sauce and a tomato sauce, and it was mild with no fishy taste. This was way better than I expected too!
The cod is soft but has a slightly chewy texture too, which made it fun to eat. The white herb sauce on top is a little sweet, and eating it together with the tomato sauce was a really good combination.
I was worried a fish dish might taste fishy, but it wasn't at all, and there were no bones. It's light, and the sauces really get your appetite going! A great main to add when pasta alone feels like not enough, haha.

Is the spinach arancini, 4 pcs (₩10,000), worth adding?
Pasta Trio's spinach arancini is a side of arancini, an Italian fried rice ball (lol), with spinach added. We added it partway through the meal and I would have really regretted skipping it. At first I wasn't sure whether to order it or not.
Maybe because of the spinach purée and bocconcini cheese, it was so savory and flavorful, I loved it ㅠㅠ The outside is crispy, and inside the spinach, cheese and rice come together nicely and taste rich. Eaten with the tomato sauce and bocconcini cheese on the side, it isn't heavy at all and it's the best…👍
It's great to nibble on between the mains, and I think it would also suit anyone coming with wine or bringing their own bottle on corkage!!
Pasta Trio reservation and ordering tips
There was no wait on a weekday evening, but the place was fairly busy, so at peak times it's safer to book ahead through Naver Reservation. Lots of the guests seemed to be there for dates or blind dates.
You can book directly through Naver Reservation, so it's easy. Also, the portions aren't huge, so I definitely recommend one dish per person!
Verdict: how was Pasta Trio as a Nonhyeon Station date spot?
Pasta Trio was a Nonhyeon Station pasta restaurant that satisfied me on atmosphere, taste and price!! There are so many restaurants near Nonhyeon Station, but places that are really good are surprisingly hard to find, right? Pasta Trio is honestly the real deal...
The prices aren't high and the food quality is good, which made me even happier! The mood suits blind dates, dates and get-togethers with friends, so I recommend Pasta Trio to anyone looking for a Nonhyeon Station date or blind-date spot ✨ I'm definitely going back, and next time I'll try the pork jowl Toowoomba pasta, haha.
