What kind of Gangnam Station café is Selected Nicks?
Selected Nicks is a large café near Gangnam Station at 37 Teheran-ro 4-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, open from 8 a.m. to midnight. Maybe because it's so hot lately, a lot of people seem to be looking for a big Gangnam Station café with blasting air conditioning. I had a meeting nearby not long ago and was looking for a place to kill time when I found Selected Nicks, and I was surprised at how much bigger it was than I expected. If you want a Gangnam Station café with plenty of spare seats, it's worth a look.

Lunch-break atmosphere at Selected Nicks and how the floors work
I visited Selected Nicks during my office lunch break. The interior is wood-toned with green plants hanging all around, so it feels a little like a garden even though it's a café.

As a proper big Gangnam Station café, Selected Nicks uses several floors starting from the basement. You order on the 1st floor and then take a seat on another floor.

The long shared tables are by the window, so the sun pours in and it's great for photos. So many customers come that they've marked the walking route with arrows.

Selected Nicks desserts and the 2-for-1 deal
There's also a bar on the 1st floor where they brew coffee, and the faint scent of roasting beans was lovely. They're running a 2-for-1 promotion right now: buy 1 bakery item and 1 tiramisu, and you get 1 bakery item free.

I actually visited Selected Nicks before, and the space feels even bigger now, with a wider range of desserts. Last time I ordered the banana tiramisu, so today I'll try a different tiramisu.

I checked the menu prices too, and for a large café they were fairly reasonable.

There weren't such tasty breads here before, but Selected Nicks has added more varieties. And there's blueberry, my favorite!

In the middle of the shop, they sell Selected Nicks' signature cake slices, each individually packaged. Takeout is available.

Why the 2nd floor of Selected Nicks suits Gangnam Station study-café types
The 2nd floor of Selected Nicks has strong air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and lots of outlets, so there's no need to go to Starbucks! I recommend it for people who study or work in cafés ("cagong" crowd). I didn't bring my laptop that day, but if you need to get work done, this is a good place to sit.
How do the cold brew latte and matcha tiramisu taste at Selected Nicks?
My cold brew latte has finally arrived! It was pretty, with a rich, dark color.

I ordered the matcha tiramisu too, and it looked like a real café life-shot moment.

I put the two side by side for one photo. Is this that famous combination? Up close the texture of the cream really stood out, which made it look even more tempting. I took one spoonful of the matcha tiramisu, and the bitterness of the matcha and the sweetness of the cream were nicely balanced.

Eaten with the cold brew, it didn't feel dry and I kept reaching for more. The Selected Nicks cold brew latte had a good balance of strong coffee and smooth milk. It wasn't too bitter, so it was easy to drink. I used to prefer Starbucks cold brew, but since trying the cold brew at Selected Nicks, a big Gangnam Station café, it's the only one I drink whenever I'm in Gangnam, haha.

Selected Nicks B1: exhibition and rental space
Each floor of Selected Nicks is used differently, and apparently you can reserve spaces if you book ahead. On B1, artworks hang on the walls. So you can enjoy art while savoring your coffee and dessert!

I hear the B1 floor of Selected Nicks can host a pop-up store and an exhibition at the same time. I was curious, so I went in. They apparently lend out a beam projector, amp and microphone too. If you have an event, renting this space seems like a good idea.

There are lots of chairs and tables. It would be a good spot for a blind date, too, haha.

The seating at Selected Nicks keeps continuing deeper into the café, so even when it's crowded you probably don't need to worry about finding a seat.

Why I recommend Selected Nicks as a big Gangnam Station café
I looked around once more on my way out, and I don't think there's another Gangnam Station café as spacious and pleasant as Selected Nicks. The cold brew latte and matcha tiramisu pair together surprisingly well. The seating is roomy and comfortable for a long stay, so I was very satisfied among Gangnam Station cafés. I recommend Selected Nicks to anyone looking for a big Gangnam Station café, a cool place to escape the heat, or a tasty tiramisu.
