Why I picked Jojo for a quick lunch at Songdo Triple Street
Jojo Triple Street Branch is the Songdo location of Jojo, the hot okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake) place in Seongsu. It had been a while since I'd been to Songdo Triple Street. I was nearby for a hospital visit and squeezed in a quick lunch.
I couldn't decide what to eat, but I wanted something simple and tasty. I heard Jojo has a Songdo branch too, so I went. The signboard is really wide, so it catches your eye.

I didn't know this, but it turns out to be the restaurant of the "Teppan Captain" from Culinary Class Wars 2!

Inside Jojo Triple Street Branch and the table griddles
The interior is wood-toned and totally cozy. It has a Japanese feel, but it's more comfortable to eat in~

There's a griddle right on the table, so you cook and eat in front of it, Japanese style. Eating it straight off the griddle means it never goes cold and tastes better, right? ❤ Such a food-savvy way to eat!!

When you first sit down, a staff member comes over and hands you this to write your nickname on,, such a fun and quirky system haha

What's in Jojo's monjayaki signature set, and how much is it?
Jojo's monjayaki signature set comes with cod roe monjayaki, karai yakisoba and waterfall potato, and the price for two is just under ₩40,000. Please check the menu in the photo above!!
There's a signature set that includes okonomiyaki, and a monjayaki set where you get monjayaki instead of okonomiyaki. I'd wanted to try monjayaki (a runny Japanese griddle pancake), so I ordered the monjayaki signature set for 2 🤍

I snapped the guide to eating monjayaki the tasty way too, but honestly it's just good however you eat it haha. It was a delicious meal~~

If you join the Naver receipt review event, you can also pick one drink.

What does the waterfall potato taste like?
The first dish out from the set was the waterfall potato. In person it's a very small dish, but it's stacked high, so there's quite a lot of it.

The soft-boiled egg was done perfectly, so amazing and delicious-looking!!! Under the egg is potato salad, and at the very bottom something like crispy cereal. The point is to scoop all three in one bite.
The egg is soft and fluffy, the potato salad is smooth, and you get bits of cereal crunch here and there, so the texture was great. A good start~ a satisfying appetizer.

How do you cook the cod roe monjayaki on the table griddle?
For Jojo's cod roe monjayaki, a staff member spreads it on the table griddle for you. Next the monjayaki arrived, and the white cubes in front, which I thought were pickled radish, turned out to be mochi (rice cake), and the mochi is really good...

Cheese goes into the monjayaki too.

Like this :)

The side dishes are radish and pickled chili peppers. The food can be a little rich, so eating these two alongside made it refreshing and crunchy in between. You can get refills at the self-serve bar if you need.

They oil the griddle like this,

and just plop it on.

They spread it out nicely like this and sprinkle the cheese on top haha. Then you just wait until it cooks, and scrape it up with the spatula they give you to eat.

Jojo's karai yakisoba: my favorite, ordered on my third visit
Jojo's karai yakisoba is a spicy yakisoba made with udon noodles, loaded with pork and shrimp. Waiting for the monjayaki was getting boring, and right then the karai yakisoba showed up!!!
Karai means spicy. This is already my third time at Jojo, but this is my favorite dish, so I ordered it again, hehe

Now let's really get started.

There's plenty of pork and shrimp inside, and the udon noodles are really chewy. It's a little salty, and how good would it have been with a draft beer!!!!!

How did the cod roe monjayaki taste?
Jojo's cod roe monjayaki tasted far better than it looked. I tried monjayaki for the first time and, oh? Honestly it isn't the prettiest, so I figured the taste would be so-so, but it was even more delicious than I expected.
It's like taking the crispy, greasy outside off an okonomiyaki, keeping just the inside, and topping it with cheese and mochi? hahaha The cheese is nutty and tasty, and the mochi is especially amazing. It adds a chewy texture in the middle and made the meal more fun.
Is Jojo Triple Street Branch a good place for a date?
At Jojo Triple Street Branch the cooking is faster than I expected, and the menu is simple but unique, so I think it works well for a date meal too. If you're looking for a date restaurant at Triple Street, I recommend Jojo.
