Noryangjin ramen shop lunch special till 5pm: two chashu sets at Chome
In short
Chome is a ramen shop about 500m from Noryangjin Station Exit 3 in Dongjak, Seoul, with a lunch special of one ramen plus a side served until 5pm. The writer had a mazesoba set with extra deli chashu (₩13,300) and a cho ramen set with extra pork belly chashu (₩13,000), each with 2 pieces of futomaki (thick sushi roll), plus a ₩1,000 lunch-only mini beer. The mazesoba was so good that the writer mixed rice into the leftover sauce and finished it all, making Chome a great-value spot for a solo lunch in Noryangjin.

I found this place while looking for lunch in Noryangjin! It's Chome (초메), a ramen shop in Noryangjin. The address is 10 Manyang-ro 14-gil, Dongjak-gu, Seoul (1st floor), and it's open daily 11:00-21:00.
Getting to Chome from Noryangjin Station Exit 3
Chome is about 500m from Noryangjin Station Exit 3. The exterior already gives off total ramen-shop vibes.

What I ate today was the lunch set!

What are the seats and interior like at Chome?
Inside Chome there are counter seats, 4-person tables, and cozy seats at the back. As soon as you walk in, there are counter seats like these,

there are 4-person tables too,

and further in, there are cozy seats like this.

The walls are decorated in a Japanese style too,

and a lot of the small props are from Japanese anime, which went really well with the ramen.

Chome's self-serve bar, restrooms and table seasonings
The self-serve bar at Chome had green tea, pickled radish (danmuji), kimchi, homemade pickled mustard greens, and disposable aprons.

The men's restroom is outside the shop, and the women's is inside.

Each table comes with minced garlic, kelp vinegar, and pepper. Add them to taste while you eat your ramen.

How late is Chome's lunch special? Until 5pm
The big plus of Chome in Noryangjin is that the lunch special is available until 5pm!! You get one ramen plus a side at a good price, and you order on the tablet at each table.
- Mazesoba set (2 futomaki) + deli chashu ₩13,300
- Cho ramen set (2 futomaki) + pork belly chashu ₩13,000

Chome's ₩1,000 mini beer, lunch only
And Chome sells a mini beer at lunch only! Just ₩1,000. The size is about this much? It seemed to be around 180-200ml. A perfect size for lunch at a cheap price... why wouldn't you order it?

How to enjoy ramen at Chome
At Chome you can refill rice and noodles, and ask for extra broth too.

Cho ramen with extra pork belly chashu: how did it taste?
My lunch set came out.

First, the cho ramen. It comes topped with bean sprouts, pork neck chashu, a soft-boiled egg, and bok choy, and it's Chome's signature ramen made with a broth that blends pork bones and chicken bones. Pork neck chashu is included, and I added pork belly chashu.

Mazesoba with extra deli chashu, finished with rice
For the mazesoba I added two kinds of deli chashu. Chome's mazesoba is a Japanese-Chinese style noodle dish topped with minced pork (minchi), scallion/chives, shredded seaweed, an egg yolk, and a soft-boiled egg. There's no soup; you mix the noodles and toppings into the thick sauce, like a mixed ramen. Personally, the pork belly chashu was a bit more my style than the deli chashu.

But the mazesoba was so, so good. It had lots of minced pork and was moist enough to be great for mixing rice in at the end. About halfway through I added some kelp vinegar for an extra umami kick!

Lunch set side: 2 pieces of futomaki
And the futomaki (thick sushi roll) I ordered as the set side. I wanted futomaki but 10 pieces would've been too many, so ordering it with the lunch set gave me just the right 2 pieces.

The combination of salmon, egg, and fried shrimp inside the futomaki worked well. (By the way, it has cucumber, so cucumber haters, take note.)

It was so good I scraped the bowl clean... Actually, I'd chosen the "no rice please" option for the mazesoba, but they gave me rice anyway, and I thought it was a waste since I wasn't going to eat it... but the mazesoba sauce was so tasty that I ended up finishing it all. Definitely get the rice and mix it in.

Verdict: Chome for a great-value solo lunch in Noryangjin
Chome was a great-value ramen spot in Noryangjin. The ramen, mazesoba, and futomaki were all delicious, and the lunch-only mini beer was just my size, easy to drink without feeling heavy. The atmosphere is good for eating alone too, so coming solo for a set is totally doable. Next time I'd like to come at dinner and try the sukiyaki set.
