What is the inside of Heel Avec like, and where do you wait?

The inside of Heel Avec Changwon Masan branch is tidy and keeps only what's necessary. My first thought when I walked in was, wow, so clean... It has only what you really need and nothing unnecessary, you know?

There's a waiting area and a cabinet for your belongings, and the staff tell you to store your things there themselves, haha. It really has just exactly what's needed, so it looked very clean and felt comfortable.

We needed to wait a little, and while we sat there they asked what we'd like to drink and brought us drinks and snacks, haha. They didn't just ask out of nowhere, either. There was a drink menu to choose from, which I liked! We visited on a weekday evening, and even so there were lots of customers, and quite a few more came in during our treatment, which made the place feel even more trustworthy.

Can a man who has never had a perm get one after a consultation?

At Heel Avec, the designer first discusses the perm and cut you want, and once the consultation is done you sign a consent form. My boyfriend's hair looked like it needed work more urgently than mine, so I booked for him and left his hair to the designer!! The designer came over and first went through the perm, the cut and so on, and after the whole consultation we filled out the consent form, haha.

After the consultation, right before the treatment!! Look at it sticking out everywhere, so messy and unkempt... right? It's shaggy and looks hot just to look at... Through the consultation, my boyfriend decided on a "see-through shadow perm"!

How did the see-through shadow perm and down perm go?

For the see-through shadow perm, the designer did a first cut, rolled the perm, and after the machine finished went straight on to a down perm. First cut, then the hair got rolled up, haha. After the machine they did the down perm too!

My boyfriend's scalp isn't healthy, so for 20-something years he has never done anything but cuts, no perms, no dye, nothing. So he knew nothing about what style suits him or perm designs. While cutting, the designer chatted with him and gradually adjusted the perm they'd do.

After a while, he lay back comfortably and got his hair washed in this nice, clean shampoo room!

Do they teach you how to dry a down perm at home?

While doing the finishing blow-dry, the Heel Avec designer taught us how to dry a down-permed head at home. After washing and before finishing, as they dried his hair they explained, in great detail, that with a down perm you apply heat while drying and then press it down lightly, and how to dry it while keeping the curl, and so on, haha. It was my boyfriend's first perm too, so he listened very carefully, haha.

How did the see-through shadow perm turn out, before and after?

After the see-through shadow perm, he had a cool, airy cut with his ears showing and a gentle curl that wasn't over the top, which made his whole impression softer. A finishing cut, shape it up, and done! The moment I saw him I was shocked, he looked like a completely different person. With his ears showing it felt fresh, and the not-too-heavy curl softened his image. My boyfriend was happy with the natural curl, but I was especially, especially happy.

It's even more obvious with the before and after side by side, right? A total transformation from a hot, heavy head of hair to a cool summer style... If the before looked like a middle or high school student, the after looks grown up, haha, doesn't it? A clean cut with a natural perm is exactly the style my boyfriend and I wanted.

Since it was his first perm ever, I agonized over which salon to pick and searched a lot, and I really think choosing Heel Avec was the right call! Above all, the careful consultation and treatment, friendly service and clean environment felt good from start to finish.

Do they lend umbrellas on rainy days?

Heel Avec Changwon Masan branch lends out umbrellas in case it suddenly rains. I spotted them on my way out after the hair was done and was really impressed. You get your hair done beautifully, then step outside and it's raining, with no umbrella... that would really be upsetting, so I was amazed by this kind of care and attention to detail.
