Yongin duck restaurant: soy-garlic duck bulgogi for two at Seonbong
In short
Seonbong Sandeomi Ori (선봉산더미오리) is a duck restaurant on Seongsan-ro in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi. At Seonbong Sandeomi Ori, the writer ordered the soy-flavored sandeomi ("mountain-high") duck bulgogi for two at 18,000 won per person, stir-fried it on an iron griddle with plenty of garlic, wrapped it in unlimited ssam greens and finished with 3,000-won fried rice. A restaurant that piles on duck like a mountain?! I couldn't resist.. so I went to Seonbong Sandeomi Ori, a well-known spot in Yongin. This is my review of the duck bulgogi, the unlimited ssam greens, and the fried rice I happily polished off. It was so good!

Why is duck considered a stamina food?
Before we eat, a quick word on why duck is good for you. Duck is known as a meat high in unsaturated fats. It's rich in protein and also contains B vitamins, so it's a classic stamina food people turn to when their energy is low. There's a saying that you should buy duck even if you have to pay with your own money, and it's not there for nothing haha
Seonbong Sandeomi Ori exterior and how to order

The restaurant name is written big on the signboard, so it's easy to find. It also said they serve duck perilla soup as a lunch special.

You order on the tablet at the table. It's one main dish per person, and "unlimited ssam greens" is written in big letters, so I already felt full of confidence!
Are the group seats good for family gatherings and company dinners?

The inside is clean and there are group seats, so I thought it would be a good place to come in a big group. It seems especially perfect for bringing parents or elders. It looks fine for family gatherings or company dinners too.
Unlimited ssam greens and self-serve side dishes

The ssam (wrap) greens fill a refrigerated display case, sorted by type, and you take as much as you want. Since the greens are unlimited, it's even great as diet food. Wrapping the meat in greens makes me feel less guilty. . . . ?

Side dishes that go well with the meat came out: ssamjang (dipping paste), sauce, and seasoned onions, just what you need. Extra side dishes are self-serve, so help yourself to as much as you like!

How big is the soy duck bulgogi for two?

The soy-flavored duck bulgogi came with thinly sliced duck topped with loads of onion and vegetables.

And here it is on the iron griddle.. it really is a mountain, just like the name..

Up close it looks like this. Enoki mushrooms and onions are packed between the meat. It's two servings, but I was surprised how much food there was.

We piled on plenty of garlic and grilled it together. Duck and garlic, who could resist haha Now you just stir-fry it on the griddle and you're done!

Stir-fried on the griddle, it was so delicious!! The soy seasoning isn't overpowering, so you just keep eating. Wrapped in the greens, you could go on forever..
Finishing with fried rice for ₩3,000
After the duck bulgogi, we added fried rice (₩3,000). A Korean meal always ends with fried rice!

Fried rice topped with loads of meat is honestly blissful.. any Korean would love this.

Meat, fried rice, all stuffed inside a wrap, yum~!
Verdict: when you're craving duck in Yongin

Even the duck doll at the cashier was cute at Seonbong Sandeomi Ori! The duck portion was generous and the ssam greens are unlimited, so I left well fed. I'd love to come back when bringing elders or having a group get-together. Recommended if you're craving duck in Yongin!!
