Study café near Wangsimni Station in Seoul: laptop seats at Eojil In

Today I'm bringing you my review of Eojil In (어질 인), a Wangsimni Station café bakery that's really popular lately. It's between Hanyang University and Wangsimni Station so the access is genuinely great haha — perfect spot for before or after class, or meeting up with friends, so I end up passing by all the time. The variety of breads and cakes was insane... my eyes went wide the second I walked in 🥹

It's really, really quick to walk from Wangsimni Station Exit 6, so it wasn't hard to find at all. The exterior is full glass too, so you can see right inside from the street, which made it easy to walk in without hesitation.

Where to sit at Eojil In: first-floor windows or the quiet second floor

The inside was way bigger and cozier than I expected. Turns out the owner here roasts the coffee themselves every day — it's a proper roastery café! The moment you step in, a gentle coffee aroma fills the air, and honestly that alone put me in a good mood 🤍

The window seats were gorgeous with the sunlight pouring in. There's also a decent-sized bookshelf, so it seemed perfect for sitting quietly to study or work. There were actually a lot of people on laptops too haha.

There's not just the first floor but a second floor too — you just take these stairs up. The second floor has a quieter vibe, so it seemed like a great spot to stay a long time.

What's on the Eojil In menu: baked goods and cakes

The variety of baked snacks was massive ㅠㅠ chocolate madeleine, earl grey madeleine, lemon madeleine, then all the way to Valrhona chocolate financier, cream cheese financier, classic financier... I stood there agonizing over wanting to try every single one ㅋㅋㅋ

There's also this huge chocolate cake, and the Basque cheesecake looked exceptional straight out of the oven, freshly baked. I don't think you find dessert quality like this often among Wangsimni café desserts ❤️

The display case was also packed with different kinds of cake. The baked snacks can be boxed up for gifting too, which seemed perfect — the kind of set that would make the recipient really happy 🥹

Basque cheesecake, Valrhona chocolate financier, iced americano and chamomile tea

I ordered the Basque cheesecake, Valrhona chocolate financier, iced americano, and chamomile tea. It all came out beautifully arranged on a tray, so of course I took photos first ㅋㅋㅋ

They even set out a fork and knife, which made eating easy. The cake and drink pairing was seriously perfect 🤍

Look at this cross-section of the Basque cheesecake! There's an oreo crust underneath, and eating it together with the dense, creamy cheese was such a great combination. The top is slightly scorched so it's a little bitter, while the inside melts softly, so from the very first bite I felt lucky ㅠㅠ The Valrhona chocolate financier next to it was seriously delicious too — crisp on the outside, moist on the inside, with butter flavor spreading through your whole mouth. It had a rich chocolate taste, so having it with coffee was a perfect match 🤍 If you're looking for a cake café near Hanyang University, I really want to recommend this Basque cheesecake.

Maybe because it's house-roasted beans, the americano was nutty with a gentle, subtle acidity. The chamomile tea was light and clean without being heavy, balancing nicely with the cake's sweetness. This kind of tea pairing is just right for sweet desserts ❤️

Oh, and aren't these napkins so cute ㅋㅋㅋ they hand-draw the restroom and Wi-Fi info on them, so full of personality. The restroom is in the first-floor outdoor corridor, and they wrote the Wi-Fi info down too, so it was really convenient haha.

Is Eojil In near Wangsimni Station worth a return visit?

Eojil In, the Wangsimni Station café bakery, genuinely exceeded my expectations. Between the roasted coffee and the dessert quality, I really want to come back again. If you're looking for a café around Wangsimni, I'd recommend visiting without hesitation 🤍
