Weekend family lunch at a Wangsimni gomtang restaurant: Geumnyeong
Geumnyeong Gomtang is a gomtang (beef bone soup) restaurant near Wangsimni Station in Seongdong, Seoul, housed in a converted family home, with the Wangsimni branch as the main location and a second branch in Yeoksam. On a weekend lunch visit, a party of three including a child ordered the regular gomtang and the minari (water dropwort) gomtang, and the soft, fragrant minari cut cleanly through the rich broth while the kimchi stood out on its own. The child called it the best gomtang he had ever eaten, so Geumnyeong Gomtang is now a regular stop.
