Sushi taco spot in Seongsu, Seoul: salmon tartare and lime, Morimoly
In short
Morimoly is a new sushi taco restaurant in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, near Seoul Forest Station. Two sisters visited Morimoly at 7 p.m. and shared the Morimoly Taco with chicken thigh (₩14,900) and the Salmon Tartare Taco (₩16,900), squeezing plenty of lime over both, and noted the building's layout (ordering on 1F, dining on 2F and 3F, restrooms on the 4F rooftop) and surprisingly clean restrooms. If you've never had a sushi taco, splitting these two kinds at Morimoly is the way to start.

What kind of taco restaurant is Morimoly in Seongsu-dong?
Morimoly is a new sushi taco specialist on Seongsu-il-ro 3-gil in Seongsu-dong. I was scrolling through the Seongsu-dong map like I always do, and what did I find but a brand-new taco place! I'd seen photos first, and the concept and atmosphere looked great and the sushi tacos looked delicious, so I went. Here's my introduction to Morimoly, a Seongsu taco spot.

I visited around 7 p.m., so it was getting a little dark, and the glow of the lights was really lovely~!

Morimoly floor layout and restrooms
2F dining area

3F dining area. The 1st floor is for ordering, the 2nd and 3rd floors are for eating, and the 4th floor (rooftop) is the restroom. Isn't the taco-joint concept totally perfect? hahaha Seeing the posters stuck up all over the place, you can tell the owner is really something.

One thing that really surprised me: the restroom is legendarily clean;; I didn't expect much, but it was kept so spotless that I, someone who cares a lot about restrooms, was completely satisfied. (The floor is so clean you could honestly lie down and sleep on it.)

We ordered the Morimoly Taco, the Salmon Tartare Taco and a cider (Korean lemon-lime soda).

Wet wipes, tissues and plastic gloves are available on every floor. Tacos are hand food, so you'll definitely want them.

How does the Morimoly Taco (chicken thigh) taste?
First, the Morimoly Taco I ordered. It's meat marinated in a special soy sauce, with vegetables and salsa sauce, and the meat is chicken thigh.

There's well-fried seaweed and rice, topped with meat, vegetables and sauce, so I worried the fried seaweed might crumble too easily. But it wasn't tough and it didn't fall to pieces either, so it was easy to break off as much as I wanted and eat.

They give you lime, and it really is better when you squeeze it on! I squeezed it down to its very soul haha. With the lime it was tangy, sweet and mellow, and really delicious. *I scrubbed my hands in the restroom afterwards. The Morimoly Taco releases a lot of meat juice, so be careful not to get it on your clothes while eating! They gave me a little extra of the sauce drizzled on top, and I dipped the taco in it, and also the fries that came alongside.

Salmon Tartare Taco: so this is a sushi taco
This is the Salmon Tartare Taco my sister ordered. It's diced raw salmon with a house-made wasabi mayo. It also had raw onion and cilantro.

Funnily enough, this one really feels more like sushi. Maybe because of the raw salmon on top, I thought, so this is what a sushi taco is! The salmon was fresh, and with every bite you could taste its richness. Even I, who don't really like salmon, enjoyed this salmon tartare taco a lot. This one needs lime too!! The feel is a bit different from the Morimoly Taco, but the lime adds a fresh note and balances it nicely 😆

The toppings may spill, but the seaweed was fried really well, so it was easy to eat. Oh, and this one has cilantro, so if you can't eat cilantro, it's best to tell them when you order.

Fries, drinks and what to know before ordering at Morimoly
The fries were sprinkled with something like seaweed seasoning..? They were slightly salty, and delicious on top of the taco. I really love fries with ketchup, and there was no ketchup, so putting them on the taco was a last resort, but it turned out surprisingly good haha. I can't drink alcohol so sadly no beer, and I swapped in cider, but if you enjoy drinking, I bet a beer alongside would be a great combo 😍
An alcoholic drink (beer) or other drink is required with your order!
It was my first time trying sushi tacos and they're really good! The restroom is seriously clean. If you're looking for a Seoul Forest area or taco restaurant, go here~~!
