What is Tteudon Magok Branch like?
Tteudon Magok Branch (뜨돈 마곡점) is a restaurant near Magok Station where you can eat pork cutlet, pasta and udon all in one place. The self-bar even has unlimited tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and dinner rolls.
When you want a hearty meal in Magok, pork cutlet is the first thing that comes to mind, isn't it? Crispy coating, juicy meat, and a warm noodle dish on the side is really satisfying. Tteudon Magok Branch, where I went this time, has not only cutlets but also pasta and udon, and being able to eat unlimited tteokbokki and dinner rolls from the self-bar made me really happy.

If you're looking for a pork cutlet restaurant near Magok Station, a good place near Seoul Botanic Park, or somewhere you can also enjoy summer kongguksu, give it a visit.

Is it close to Magok Station and good for a Seoul Botanic Park outing?
Tteudon Magok Branch is close to Magok Station, so it's easy to find. It's also nice to have a meal and then walk around Seoul Botanic Park, so it suits a date or a family meal out.

Eating out can be a price burden these days, but Tteudon had generous portions and a good menu lineup, so I was very satisfied. You can enjoy cutlets, pasta and udon all at once, and with the self-bar's tteokbokki and dinner rolls, it's a perfect place to eat until you're full. It works with friends or family, since everyone can order to their own taste, so I felt it's a restaurant anyone can enjoy.

Inside Tteudon Magok Branch and the kids' room
The inside of Tteudon Magok Branch is clean, and the tables are spaced generously, so I could eat comfortably.

Tteudon is great for visiting with kids!! There's a kids' room, so children can play happily while you eat. With toys and a well-equipped play area, it's a satisfying place for a family meal.

What's at the Tteudon self-bar?
At the self-bar of Tteudon Magok Branch, you can help yourself to as much tteokbokki and as many dinner rolls as you like. This self-bar was one of my favorite things about Tteudon. A self-bar usually means just pickled radish or kimchi, but this one was a little different.

Yes, really: unlimited tteokbokki and dinner rolls. The tteokbokki was well soaked in a sweet and spicy sauce so I kept reaching for more, and the chewy rice cakes were so good. The dinner rolls were fluffy and tasty on their own, and they went surprisingly well with the cutlet too.

I kept picking at things before the main dishes arrived, so the wait wasn't boring at all. With a self-bar like this, the word "hyeja" (a real bargain) comes out on its own.

What we ordered at Tteudon Magok Branch
We ordered the following four items at Tteudon Magok Branch.
- Tteudon chicken cutlet
- Shrimp rose pasta
- Fish cake udon set
- Coca-Cola
The menu is really varied, so when plain cutlet feels like not enough, you can add pasta or udon too, which I liked. They also sell kongguksu (cold soy milk noodles) in summer, and I heard many people come specifically for it.

How was the Tteudon chicken cutlet?
The Tteudon chicken cutlet had a crispy coating and juicy chicken inside. The chicken cutlet was the first thing I tried, and the moment I bit in I could practically hear a "crunch!" because the coating was so crispy.
The outside was fried golden, and the inside was full of moist, tender chicken without any dryness. The juices rose as I chewed, so I kept eating. The sauce wasn't too sweet and had a nice savory depth that went really well with the chicken cutlet. Eating it with the salad on the side cut the richness, so I could enjoy it to the end. No wonder it's called a top pork cutlet place near Magok Station.

Is the shrimp rose pasta thick and rich?
The shrimp rose pasta at Tteudon Magok Branch had a sauce that wasn't watery but thick, clinging to the noodles. The rose pasta was better than I expected too.
From the first bite, the nutty cream and the gentle acidity of the tomato spread together, and the balance was really good. It wasn't heavy and went down smoothly, so I kept going back for more. There were plenty of plump shrimp, so the texture was satisfying. The noodles were cooked just right and still springy, and I ended up scraping up every bit of sauce. Eating the cutlet and pasta together was a really good combination.
How was the fish cake udon set broth?
The fish cake udon set at Tteudon Magok Branch had a really clear, refreshing broth. The deeply brewed stock plus the savory taste of the fish cake warmed me up from the first sip.
The noodles were springy and chewy, and they slurped down nicely. Sipping the warm broth between bites of cutlet cleaned up my mouth, so the combination was the best. There was plenty of fish cake too, so I felt very satisfied.

Is Tteudon Magok Branch worth going back to?
Tteudon Magok Branch satisfied me on taste, portion, price and self-bar. I especially recommend the combination of crispy chicken cutlet, thick rose pasta and clear udon. The biggest charm was being able to enjoy unlimited tteokbokki and dinner rolls at the self-bar.
If you're looking for a pork cutlet restaurant near Magok Station, you'll likely be satisfied, and if you want a meal before or after a date at Seoul Botanic Park, I recommend it as a spot near the park too. This summer, try the kongguksu as well and it should make for an even more satisfying meal. Taste, portions and lineup were all solid, so it's a place that makes me want to come back. 😊
