Goyang Chinese restaurant with parking: jjamjjamyeon and tangsuyuk
In short
Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is a Chinese restaurant specializing in jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) on Seooreung-ro in Deogyang-gu, Goyang. The writer parked right in front of the restaurant and ordered jjamjjamyeon (half jjamppong, half jjajangmyeon), jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and glutinous rice tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour fried meat), switching between the spicy broth, the sweet-salty sauce and the chewy batter. If you can't choose between jjamppong and jjajangmyeon, jjamjjamyeon with glutinous rice tangsuyuk at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is a safe pick.

What did we eat at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch?
At Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch (짬뽕지존 서오릉점), I ordered jjamjjamyeon (half jjamppong, half jjajangmyeon in one bowl), jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce) and glutinous rice tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork). On days when Chinese food is calling, I want jjamppong AND jjajangmyeon, and picking one is tough, right? Add crispy, sweet tangsuyuk and the meal is complete. So this time I went for jjamjjamyeon, a regular jjajangmyeon and glutinous rice tangsuyuk.
Noodles alone make a filling Chinese meal, but ordering tangsuyuk too gives you a lot more flavors to enjoy. Here's the combination I'd suggest if you can't decide what to order.

Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch is a great stop on a Chinese-food day! This time I ordered jjamjjamyeon, jjajangmyeon and glutinous rice tangsuyuk, so I could taste a spicy broth dish, sweet-salty jjajangmyeon and chewy tangsuyuk all at once.
Jjamppong and jjajangmyeon are both must-have staples at any Chinese restaurant, so choosing just one isn't easy. The biggest plus of jjamjjamyeon is that you get both in one go. It's a good fit when a single bowl feels a bit lacking and you want to try a variety of dishes.

Is there parking at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch?
The shop has parking spaces right out front, so it was convenient to visit by car. You can park right in front and eat, which makes it a nice family outing spot when you're craving jjamppong or jjajangmyeon. If you're driving around Seooreung looking for a good Chinese restaurant, keep the parking in mind.

How was the jjamjjamyeon, jjajangmyeon and tangsuyuk combo?
Today I ordered jjamjjamyeon, jjajangmyeon and glutinous rice tangsuyuk at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch and enjoyed a Chinese feast.

From jjamjjamyeon, which lets you taste jjamppong and jjajangmyeon together, to familiar jjajangmyeon and glutinous rice tangsuyuk with its charming chewy texture, I got to enjoy a few very different dishes at once.

Chinese food is great for a simple solo meal, and also for going with family or friends and sharing lots of dishes.

If you can't choose, I'd recommend getting jjamjjamyeon for two flavors in one, and adding tangsuyuk to make the meal a little more generous.

What I ordered this time was jjamjjamyeon, jjajangmyeon and glutinous rice tangsuyuk. Spicy jjamppong, sweet-salty jjajangmyeon and chewy glutinous rice tangsuyuk: a combination that covers all the Chinese dishes you crave.

Jjamjjamyeon is great when you want two flavors at once, and jjajangmyeon is an easy way to enjoy the familiar taste of Chinese food. Add tangsuyuk and the different texture beyond the noodles makes the meal even more varied.
It's also fun how the mood of a Chinese meal changes with what you order. Even if one person loves spicy broth and another loves jjajangmyeon, each can pick a dish to suit their taste. Above all, jjamjjamyeon is a good option for anyone torn between jjamppong and jjajangmyeon. Add tangsuyuk and you get a range of flavors, which makes the order even more satisfying.

Jjamjjamyeon: jjamppong and jjajang in one bowl
The jjamjjamyeon at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch puts jjamppong and jjajangmyeon in a single bowl. The charm is that you don't have to give up either one when you want both. One side holds spicy jjamppong, the other sweet-salty jjajang, so you can alternate depending on your taste.
Jjamppong makes you look forward to that spicy, rich broth that Chinese food is known for. Lift the noodles with your chopsticks and eat them with the broth, and the savory depth of jjamppong spreads through your mouth, a different charm from jjajangmyeon. Especially if you take a sip of jjamppong broth in the middle of jjajangmyeon, the taste in your mouth changes, so alternating is fun.
The charm of jjajangmyeon is how the sweet-salty sauce coats the noodles evenly. Mix the noodles well with the sauce and one bite gives you that familiar, comforting Chinese flavor. Since the spiciness of jjamppong and the sweetness of jjajang contrast with each other, I liked that it never got boring even within one bowl. If you can't decide what to eat, jjamjjamyeon is worth choosing. It's especially good when you want to taste both.

Jjajangmyeon: mix it all the way to the bottom
Apart from the jjamjjamyeon, I also ordered a regular jjajangmyeon at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch. Lots of dishes catch your eye at a Chinese restaurant, but jjajangmyeon is still one of the first things that comes to mind, right? Just the sight of glossy jjajang sauce with the noodles makes you hungry.
With jjajangmyeon, it's important to mix the noodles and sauce thoroughly. At first the sauce may be clumped to one side, so use your chopsticks to mix all the way down to the noodles at the bottom. Take a bite of well-mixed noodles and the jjajang sauce between the strands gives you a sweet-salty flavor.
On days when spicy jjamppong feels like too much, a familiar dish like jjajangmyeon is more appealing. Especially when eating out with kids, it's handy that you can order something they like too. Jjajangmyeon is familiar to all ages, so it seems to come up a lot as a family meal.
This time I had jjamjjamyeon and jjajangmyeon together, and being able to alternate between spicy jjamppong and sweet-salty jjajang made the spread more varied. If you hate to pick just one of jjamppong and jjajangmyeon, go for jjamjjamyeon; if you want plenty of jjajangmyeon, choose the single dish.

Glutinous rice tangsuyuk: a chewy side for noodles
The dish I ordered alongside the noodles was glutinous rice tangsuyuk. When ordering Chinese food, eating only noodles can feel a bit lacking. Tangsuyuk depends on the balance between the coating's texture and the sauce, and glutinous rice tangsuyuk is appealing because you can expect a chewier texture than regular tangsuyuk. Cut into bite-size pieces and eaten with the noodles, it makes for a fuller meal.
The charm of tangsuyuk lies in how the crispy or chewy coating, the meat and the sweet-sour sauce come together. Take a piece of tangsuyuk while eating jjajangmyeon or jjamppong and you get a texture different from the noodles. It's worth a look especially if you like that chewy feel unique to glutinous rice.
If you keep eating only noodles, the texture can get monotonous, but eating tangsuyuk alongside brings the meal to life. Tangsuyuk with its sweet sauce goes well with salty jjajangmyeon, and with spicy jjamppong you can alternate between different tastes. If you go with several people, each ordering the noodle dish they want and sharing tangsuyuk is a good way to do it. Sharing a variety of dishes instead of just one adds to the fun of eating Chinese food out.
