A lifelong Ansan local walked in with friends around 8 PM on a Friday with no wait and ordered smoked salmon salad, lasagna, abalone innards cream risotto and corn pizza, with the abalone innards cream risotto the best of the night. For rich, creamy dishes in a resort-like setting, Two Find Peter Ansan Gojan is a good fit for a night out with friends or a date.

Beef BBQ with parents in Gojan, Ansan: 900g for ₩100,000, Yangsimso

Yangsimso Ansan Gojan Branch (양심소 안산고잔점) is a charcoal-grilled aged beef restaurant in Gojan-dong, Ansan, near Ansan City Hall. Over a weekend lunch with their parents, the writer shared the 900g special platter of hanger steak, galbisal (boneless rib meat), LA galbi (cross-cut short ribs) and kkotgalbi (prime short rib). It came with free yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), a big earthenware pot of brisket doenjang (soybean paste) stew and four sauces, so the meal never got boring. Verdict: Yangsimso fed three people well on quality beef for about ₩100,000 and is a great choice for taking your parents out.

Bingdongdaeng (Bingdongdaeng Premium Bingsu Café, Jamsil Baseball Stadium Food Truck) is a yellow bingsu (Korean shaved ice) food truck near outfield Ticket Office 1 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Songpa, Seoul. Before a Saturday Doosan vs. Kia game in June, a Doosan fan and three Kia-fan friends shared Bingdongdaeng's red bean bingsu, Cream Shrimp & Nachos from the neighbouring Station truck and a Bacon Corn Mayo hot dog from Ippeun Yeou Hot Dog on a bench, then watched the game from 1st-base Navy Block 312, row 20. Verdict: Bingdongdaeng's red bean bingsu is big enough for four people and not too sweet, making it the perfect game-day dessert.
