Yangjae Station tonkatsu with pink salt and wasabi dip: Yangjae Katsu
In short
Yangjae Katsu is a Japanese-style tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) restaurant in Seocho, Seoul, about a 10-minute walk from Yangjae Station Exit 8. At Yangjae Katsu we ordered the premium loin katsu, cheese katsu and buckwheat soba, dipping the cutlets in turn into pink salt, wasabi and katsu sauce; the crust was crisp and the meat full of juice. Yangjae Katsu is worth recommending if you want a tonkatsu lunch or dinner near Yangjae Station.

Where is Yangjae Katsu?
Yangjae Katsu is a Japanese-style tonkatsu restaurant about a 10-minute walk from Yangjae Station Exit 8. I found it while looking for a place to have lunch or dinner near Yangjae Station 🐷 The area is full of offices, so it works as a lunch spot for workers, and it's close to the Yangjaecheon café street too, so it's perfect for a meal after a date 🪄

Yangjae Katsu is open from daytime through the evening, so it suits lunch or dinner after work, and the location is just right for a weekend date along Yangjaecheon stream! 👫🏻🌿

What are the seats and restroom at Yangjae Katsu like?
The interior is clean, with a nice blend of wood and gray tones ✨ There are table seats as well as window seats for eating alone, so it seems good whether you come solo or with a group 〰️ 👥

The restroom is in the building to the left after you leave the restaurant 〰️ 🚻 Check the door code, and bring your own tissue!

How to order and how to eat it at Yangjae Katsu
You order easily on the tablet at each table 📲 There was also a review event where you could get curry or a drink 🎉
Here is how the table guide says to enjoy the katsu:
- Dip it in pink salt
- Top it with wasabi
- Try it with pink salt + wasabi
- Dip it in katsu sauce
- Add a light squeeze of lemon to any of the above
Handy to know while eating, and rice and soup can be refilled if you run short 🍚

Yangjae Katsu menu
The menu is loin, tenderloin (hire) and cheese katsu, available as a single or half-and-half, plus sets with udon, soba or shrimp tempura to go with the katsu! 👏 (By the way, delivery is available too 🏍️)
What I ordered: premium loin katsu, cheese katsu and soba

🕐 Food is cooked to order, so it takes about 15 minutes 〰️ It came out neatly on one tray: the premium loin katsu and cheese katsu, plus cold soba (buckwheat noodles) to eat alongside 👏👏
Is the rosy pink inside the tonkatsu undercooked?
💁🏻♀️ The pink inside the meat isn't undercooked. It's a "pinking" effect from myoglobin in fresh meat, which is perfectly normal! → If anything, it's a sign the meat is fresh 👍
How was the cheese katsu at Yangjae Katsu?

You can dip the katsu in pink salt, wasabi or katsu sauce however you like, and the side dishes that came with it (kkakdugi radish kimchi, pickled onion and salad) cut the richness nicely! 🍱✨

The cheese katsu is said to use natural mozzarella (freshly fried, so it stretches and stretches) 🧀✌️ Juicy meat inside the crisp coating went really well with the stretchy, rich cheese 💗
Which cut is the premium loin katsu at Yangjae Katsu?

The premium loin katsu is a limited-quantity daily item made from a special loin cut with gabrisal (pork collar muscle) attached. The balance of fat and lean was good, and one bite and the juices go splash!!! 🐷💦
Highly recommended if you want a rich meat flavor ⭐️

I also recommend putting the katsu on top of rice with wasabi! 🍚 And the warm broth to sip in between, yum 〰️
Yangjae Katsu soba with katsu

The soba had a cool, savory broth and springy noodles that came together for a clean, refreshing bite 🥢 It paired perfectly with the crunchy katsu I ordered alongside.
Crisp outside, tender and juicy inside: Yangjae Katsu serves delicious Japanese-style katsu 🐷 I recommend it if you're looking for a tonkatsu place near Yangjae Station for lunch or dinner! ⭐️⭐️
